An apparatus for conditioning an aqueous liquid includes at least one inlet, at least one liquid treatment device for the treatment of liquid by ion exchange including a cation exchange material of which at least a portion is in the hydrogen form, a membrane filtration device and a section arranged to process filtrate produced by the membrane filtration device. This section includes a liquid treatment device for dissolving at least one mineral contributing to carbonate hardness in water into at least some of the liquid passing through the section. At least one of the at least one inlets is connected to an inlet of the membrane filtration device via at least one of the at least one liquid treatment devices for the treatment of liquid by ion exchange.

Apparatus and method for treating an aqueous liquid

A filter element comprises a porous body. The porous body is made of bonded matter, including: at least one material for binding lead; and at least a binder having a Melt Flow Rate, MFR, of more than 1 g/10 min. The porous body has a Mean Flow Pore size, MFP, in a range of between 0.1 and 11 &#x3bc;m.

Filter element, method of producing a filter element, filtration device and liquid treatment system

A method of manufacturing a porous fluid treatment element, e.g. a filter element, includes forming a layered structure having at least two layers and subjecting the layered structure to at least a heat treatment. The step of forming a layered structure includes forming a first layer including particulate matter including at least a binder and applying a second layer including particulate matter including at least a binder directly onto the first layer on a first side thereof. The step of forming a layered structure further includes applying at least one of radiation and heat to at least the first side of the first layer prior to applying the second layer.
