According to some embodiments, a system and method for determining a best path in a mesh network is disclosed. The method comprises collecting path information from a plurality of nodes in a mesh network during normal network operation of the mesh network. A first of the plurality of nodes is associated with an application that transmits high-density data packets and a second of the plurality of nodes in the mesh network is to function as a target station for receiving the high-density data packets. A best path to transmit the high-density data packets to the target station based on the collected path information is determined and the best path is transmitted to the plurality of nodes in the mesh network for initiating transmission of the high-density data packets to the target station via the best path.

According to some embodiments a system may control connected modules within a lighting fixture. The system may comprise a power supply that includes a first input to receive AC power, a second input to receive a control signal, and an output to transmit DC power. A light emitting diode (LED) array may receive DC power from the power supply. A master control unit may receive DC power from the power supply. The master control unit may comprise a first control line to send a control signal to the power supply to control the LED array and a second control line to control one or more modules. The system may further comprises one or more connectors mounted to a circuit board where at least one of the one or more connectors is electrically coupled to the output of the power supply and the second control line.

System for efficient communication and control for connected modules in lighting fixtures

A system and method for implementing a dynamic interference mitigating protocol in a mesh network is described. The system includes a first of a plurality of nodes in a mesh network to function as an originator station, a second of the plurality of nodes in the mesh network to function as a target station and a third of the plurality of nodes in the mesh network to function as a coordinating node. A setup message may be transmitted across the plurality of nodes to determine or implement an assigned path between the originator station and the target station. All nodes in the plurality of nodes may be reactivated after the high density data packets are received at the target station.

System and method of utilizing an interference mitigating protocol in mesh networks

According to some embodiments, a system and method for managing dynamic tunneling in in a mesh network is disclosed. The method comprises associating an application that transmits high density data packets with a first of a plurality of nodes in a mesh network. The first of the plurality of nodes functions as an originator station for transmitting the high-density data packets to a second of the plurality of nodes in the mesh network that functions as a target station. An auto-trigger to be initiated by the application in a case that the application requires more bandwidth is created. In response to the auto-trigger being activated, a message is generated across the plurality of nodes to activate a best path through the mesh network where the message indicates a time duration that the application will require more bandwidth.

System and method for managing and controlling a dynamic tunneling protocol in a mesh network

The disclosure relates to devices, systems, and methods to set, adjust, and/or maintain lumen levels of luminaires in a lighting system, for example. The lights may be a plurality of Light Emitting Diode (LED)-based luminaires, which are part of a smart illumination system. In certain exemplary embodiments, sensor subsystems detect degradation of luminaire lumen levels and servers/gateways are used to adjust dimming controls to reestablish proper lumen levels and predict a half-life or end of life for the luminaires.

The disclosure relates to devices, systems, and methods for adjusting and/or maintaining color temperature levels of luminaires. The luminaires may be Light Emitting Diode (LED)-based luminaires which are part of a smart illumination system. In the exemplary embodiments, emergency lighting system tests may be automatically scheduled, carried out, and evaluated.

Devices, systems, and methods to predict a half-life or end of life for luminaire drivers are described. The drivers may include electronic drivers for light fixtures such as dimming controls that utilize electrolytic capacitors in the output circuit to smooth the output current and reduce changes in current amplitude. Half-life and end of life for the drivers may be predicted by monitoring failure variable indications of the driver and the luminaire light, including the light intensity depreciation of the light, and by evaluating the data from both the driver, light, and environment in which the driver and/or luminaire is installed to predict the most imminent half-life and/or end of life.

Devices, systems, and methods are disclosed for attaching a sensor system to luminaires of a variety of shapes and sizes. Specifically, a 3D sensor clip is disclosed with adjustable components configured to attached the 3D sensor clip to a luminaire such as to adjust the position of a color sensor in the 3D sensor clip relative to a luminaire. Devices, systems, and methods are also disclosed for using visual light communication (VLC)/dark light communication (DLC) for communications in a lighting system, including automated identification of luminaires.

Automated dynamic devices, systems, and methods for identifying and commissioning lighting systems are disclosed. In particular, sensor systems are configured to read barcodes for identifying luminaires in a lighting system, and lumen levels of the luminaires are adjustable to provide appropriate lighting for the sensors to read the barcodes. The sensors may also be attached to sensor clips that allow sensors to be positioned in a variety of locations and orientations on different luminaires.

A system for transporting high luminous intensity light from at least one luminaire to a destination area is disclosed. The system may include a light guide that carries light from the luminaire to a plurality of sensors located on a Printed Circuit Board (PCB). The PCB may be attachable anywhere the luminaire is located. While collecting light rays originating from the luminaire and delivering them to the light sensors, the light guide may perform a plurality of operations to modify the characteristics of the collected light rays. The plurality of operations performed by the light guide on the light rays may support the accuracy and longevity of the light sensors on the PCB. Further, the light guide allows the sensor subsystem to be proximal to or distant from the luminaire.

The present system provides a sensor clip system that can be clipped to luminaires of a plurality of shapes and sizes and method of using the sensor clip. Some of the sensors are upward looking (into the luminaire) while others are downward looking (away from the luminaire); and thus face in substantially opposite directions. The sensor clip is adjustable in one, two or three dimensions to be able to easily fit with different sized and shaped luminaires, such that the upward looking sensors may face the incoming light and downward looking sensors face away from the light. The sensor clip system may also provide attenuation of the luminous intensity of the emitted light coming out of the luminaires and extends the longevity and usability of the embedded sensor.
