A light converter () comprises: a solid-state light conversion material () that generates emission light from excitation light incident on its surface; a filler layer () on the surface of the solid-state light conversion material (); and an optical coating () on the filler layer. The optical coating () may be a thin film, such as an anti-reflective coating () and/or a high-reflective coating (). A metallic coating () may additionally be provided. The light converter () may be used for an optical device, such as a phosphor wheel or automotive headlight.

Optically enhanced solid-state light converters

A optical device comprises a colour wheel, the colour wheel having a hub portion configured to act as a rotor for coupling to a motor and having a disk-shaped surface; an optically active radial portion, attached to or integrated with the hub portion and configured to optically process incident light; and a balancing adaptation to the disk-shaped surface of the hub portion, comprising one or more of: (a) a recess in the disk-shaped surface extending to an edge of the disk-shaped surface; (b) an annular groove in the disk-shaped surface having a non-uniform width and/or being non-concentric with the disk-shaped surface; (c) an annular groove in the disk-shaped surface, at least a portion of which is filled by a balancing mass part; and (d) a groove and/or a matrix of recesses in the disk-shaped surface arranged to define a portion of an annulus in shape.

Unbalanced hub design

A color wheel, comprises a hub portion, configured to act as a rotor for coupling to a motor and having a disk-shaped surface; an optically active radial portion, attached to or integrated with the hub portion and configured to optically process incident light; and a balancing adaptation to the disk-shaped surface of the hub portion, comprising one or more of: (a) a recess in the disk-shaped surface extending to an edge of the disk-shaped surface; (b) an annular groove in the disk-shaped surface having a non-uniform width and/or being non-concentric with the disk-shaped surface; (c) an annular groove in the disk-shaped surface, at least a portion of which is filled by a balancing mass part; and (d) a groove and/or a matrix of recesses in the disk-shaped surface arranged to define a portion of an annulus in shape.

A phosphor wheel comprises a wavelength conversion portion. The wavelength conversion portion comprises a wavelength conversion material optically integrated with at least one convex surface.

Optical wheel

A light engine comprises: a wavelength conversion device, receiving source light of a first wavelength range and a first polarisation, generating light of a second wavelength range from a portion of the received source light, at least a portion of the second wavelength range being non-overlapping with the first wavelength range, the wavelength conversion device reflects output light comprising the generated light and comprises a polarisation converter that sets at least some of the output light to a second polarisation, different from the first polarisation; and a dichroic element, that receives the reflected output light and directs light of the first polarisation differently from light of the second polarisation.

Compact light engine

A call reminder system includes a transmitting module and a processing module. The transmitting module receives an outside signal to generate a call signal. The processing module is connected to the transmitting module to receive the call signal and generate a call message corresponding to the call signal. When an executed signal is not received by the processing module in a first predetermined time, and the call message is in compliance with a reminder condition determined by the processing module, the processing module will generate a first reminder signal and deliver the first reminder signal to an external electronic device by the transmitting module. Thereby, the function of reminding the user of unanswered calls may be achieved.
