A pressure sensor for measuring pressures in combustion chambers of internal combustion engines includes a sensor housing with a longitudinal axis and an interior space, a measuring element in the interior space, and a rotation-symmetrically designed membrane with a peripheral edge section connected with an end of the sensor housing at the pressure chamber side to seal off the interior space of the sensor housing on the pressure chamber side. The membrane has a flexible annular membrane segment and a central plunger that interacts with the measuring element and the flexible annular membrane segment. The annular membrane segment connects the plunger with the peripheral edge section. The annular membrane segment is designed as a convex circular arc of constant material thickness on the pressure chamber side.

Pressure sensor with a membrane applied on a pressure chamber side and use thereof

A piezoelectric pressure sensor includes a membrane for capturing a force; a piezoelectric transducer having a front face onto which the force is applied from the membrane and generates electric polarization charges; and an electrode that receives generated electric polarization charges and transmits them via a charge transmission. The electrode includes a charge pick-off and at least one electrode strip. The charge pick-off is arranged parallel to the front face of the piezoelectric transducer. Material bonding in certain areas of the electrode strip connects the charge transmission to the electrode strip.

Piezoelectric pressure sensor

A glow plug adaptor for pressure measurement in a combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine includes an adaptor sleeve attached to an adaptor head that contains a pressure sensor with a diaphragm. A sealing shoulder can be screwed into an opening in a combustion chamber to provide a pressure-tight seal and permit passage of signal conductors from the pressure sensor through the adaptor sleeve. The adaptor head is tapered at the proximal combustion chamber end, and in the adaptor head a cavity is formed in such a way that the cavity is bounded by the diaphragm of the pressure sensor mounted therein and by a closed end wall of the adaptor head.
