The present invention concerns electrode materials capable of redox reactions by electron and alkali-ion exchange with an electrolyte. The applications are in the field of primary (batteries) or secondary electrochemical generators, supercapacitors and light modulating systems of the electrochromic type.

The present invention concerns electrode materials capable of redox reactions by electrons and alkali ions exchange with an electrolyte. The applications are in the field of primary (batteries) or secondary electrochemical generators, super capacitors and light modulating system of the super capacitor type.

A process for extruding a thin positive electrode sheet having at least 40%/wt of solid content for a lithium polymer battery through a single or twin screw extruder is disclosed as well as a positive electrode sheet produced therefrom. A mixture of active cathodic intercalation material, lithium salt and electronic conductive material is mixed with a polymer of the polyether family in a ratio of at least 40% of total weight into the mixing chamber of an extrusion machine and extruded through a classical sheet die into a thin cathode sheet or film onto a substrate in sheet form.

Positive electrode films for alkali metal polymer batteries and method for making same

The present invention is concerned with a protective coating with current applied on a metallic collector of an electrode. The protective coating comprises a mineral binder vitreous or partly vitreous and optionally an electronic conduction additive. This coating is applied in the form of a solution or dispersion on the collector of the electrode and dried, so that it coats and protects at least part of the surface of the metal of the collector to prevent the formation of passivation films generated by active species produced by other components of the generator.

LiPO3-based coating for collectors

The invention concerns an aprotic electrolytic composition located in the separator and in at least one composite electrode containing a powder of an active electrode material, and if necessary an electronic conduction additive of an electrochemical generator. The electrolytic composition comprises a first polymer matrix consisting of a polyether and at least a second polymer matrix, macroscopically separated, and also at least an alkaline salt as well as a polar aprotic solvent: The polymer matrices are capable of being swollen by at least one of the polar aprotic solvents. The solvent or mixture of solvents is unevenly distributed between the polymer matrices. The invention further concerns the manufacture in two or three steps of a sub-assembly of an electrochemical generator by coating an electrode support with a composite electrode containing the second matrix, followed by a surface coating on the electrode resulting from the preceding step with a solution containing the first polymer matrix so as to form the separator wholly or partly.

Electrolytic composition with polymer base for electrochemical generator

The present invention concerns a lithium electrochemical generator including at least one composite electrode comprising an active material and a first and second solid electrolytes non-homogeneously distributed into the composite. The first solid electrolyte is of mineral nature, vitreous or partly vitreous, and is a specific conductor of lithium ions, and is preferably localized on the surface of the particles of active materials of the electrode. The second solid electrolyte is organic, comprises a dry or gelified polymer electrolyte conducting ions surrounding the dispersed solid phases and acts as a deformable binder, preferably elastomeritically, of the composite in contact also with the collector and the separator electrolyte of the generator. A thin layer of the first electrolyte wets and coats at least a part of the surface of the active material particles to protect the coated surface of passivation or degradation reactions induced by the second electrolyte, and to maintain a good quality of ionic and electronic exchanges between the active material of the electrode and the other components of the composite, the first electrolyte being impermeable to the components of the second electrolyte.
