Automated generation and implementation of a network routing configuration with service requirements are provided by automatically establishing a network routing configuration for use in network routing a client request to an appropriate service of a plurality of services of a computing environment. The network routing configuration includes one or more respective instructions to be implemented by the network routing for the appropriate service. The instruction(s) are specified as part of the automatically establishing from one or more tags associated with the appropriate service. Each tag identifies a service requirement of the appropriate service to be implemented by the network routing on behalf of the appropriate service. The network routing executes the one or more instructions associated with the appropriate service in the network routing configuration after receipt of the client request to ensure that the service requirement(s) of the appropriate service is implemented with respect to the client request.

Dynamic generation of network routing configuration with service requirements

It is also possible to receive a publication message of a second type and to compare the publication received with the subscription request to determine whether the publication is appropriate for forwarding onto the subscriber originating the request. To enable such a comparison, a generic format filter attribute(s) is identified and is mapped to a format corresponding to the second message type. Once a match is found, the publication can then be transmitted to the originating subscriber.

A server concurrency control technique for use in a client/server computing system where a client sends a request to a server for access to a server resource involves receiving client requests of a plurality of lock requester types at a lock requester interface; comparing each of said requests against a lock requester set which has a lock requester type representation corresponding to a lock requester type of previously received client requests which are presently holding locks to server resources; and as a result of the comparing step, determining whether a newly received client request conflicts with previously received client requests which are currently holding locks to server resources.

A concurrency control mechanism for a client/server computing system analyzes each client request to determine whether it can be given concurrent access to a server's resources, along with other client requests which are presently accessing the server's resources.
