The invention relates to a method for transporting construction material and/or equipment inside a building under construction, wherein the building under construction comprises plurality of vertically displaced floors, the method comprising providing an elevator for transporting transport containers in the building under construction, said elevator comprising at least a load receiving unit vertically movable along one or more guide rail lines in an elevator shaft formed in the building under construction; and providing plurality of transport containers each comprising a container body, and an identification provided on the container body for identifying the container and/or its destination in the building, most preferably the destination floor in the building under construction; providing one or more detectors within the building under construction for detecting identifications of containers when they are within the detection ranges of the one or more detectors; moving a first transport container belonging to said plurality of transport containers to a loading floor; loading the first transport container belonging to said plurality of containers on the load receiving unit; determining by a control system destination floor of the first container comprising detecting the identification of the first transport container with a detector; automatically moving the load receiving unit vertically in the elevator shaft to the destination floor of the first container; and unloading the first transport container from the load receiving unit to the destination floor of said first container. The invention also relates to a method for constructing a building and an arrangement, which implement the aforementioned method.

Method and arrangement

An elevator may include: a hoisting machine; a set of hoisting ropes; a traction sheave that comprises a plurality of grooves; and diverting pulleys. The hoisting machine may engage the set of ropes via the traction sheave. Each groove may have an opening for receiving an individual rope. Each rope may include steel wires of circular, non-circular, or circular and non-circular cross-section, twisted together to form strands. The strands of each rope may be twisted together to form the respective rope. A thickness of each rope may be greater than or equal to about 2.5 mm and less than or equal to about 8 mm. An average of wire thicknesses of the steel wires may be greater than or equal to 0.1 mm and less than or equal to 0.4 mm. The strength of the steel wires may be greater than 2,300 N/mmand less than 3,000 N/mm.

Elevator

An elevator may include: a hoisting machine; hoisting ropes; a traction sheave that includes grooves; a counterweight; an elevator car; counterweight guide rails; and elevator car guide rails. Each hoisting rope may include steel wires of circular, non-circular, or circular and non-circular cross-section, twisted together to form strands. The strands of each hoisting rope may be twisted together to form the hoisting rope. A thickness of each hoisting rope may be greater than or equal to 2.5 mm and less than or equal to 8 mm. Each hoisting rope individually may contact one of the grooves. A cross-sectional area of the steel wires may be greater than 0.015 mmand less than 0.2 mm. The strength of the steel wires may be greater than 2300 N/mmand less than 2700 N/mm.

Elevator and elevator rope

An elevator may include: a hoisting machine; hoisting ropes; a traction sheave that includes grooves; and diverting pulleys. Each of the hoisting ropes may individually contact one of the grooves. Each hoisting rope may include steel wires of circular, non-circular, or circular and non-circular cross-section, twisted together to form strands. The strands of each hoisting rope may be twisted together to form the hoisting rope. A thickness of each of the hoisting ropes may be greater than or equal to 2.5 mm and less than or equal to 8 mm. A cross-sectional area of the steel wires of the hoisting ropes may be greater than 0.015 mmand less than 0.2 mm. The strength of the steel wires may be greater than 2,700 N/mmand less than 3,000 N/mm.

Elevator with hoisting and governor ropes

An elevator may include an elevator car, a counterweight, a set of hoisting ropes, and one or more rope pulleys. The car and counterweight may be suspended on the hoisting ropes. At least one rope pulley may include a solid surface including a plurality of rope grooves configured to receive at least one hoisting rope. Each rope groove may generally conform to a semi-circular shape and may include a groove bottom and sides. The at least one rope pulley may include a coating adhesively bonded to it. The coating may directly contact the at least one hoisting rope. A coating thickness may be less than or equal to about 3 mm. At the groove bottom of each rope groove, the coating thickness may be substantially less than half a thickness of the at least one hoisting rope. The coating may cover the groove bottom and sides of each rope groove.

Elevator and traction sheave of an elevator

An elevator may include an elevator car, counterweight, set of hoisting ropes, and one or more rope pulleys. The elevator car and counterweight may be suspended on the set of hoisting ropes. The one or more rope pulleys may be provided with one or more rope grooves. Each rope groove may have a groove bottom and groove sides. At least one rope pulley may have a coating adhesively bonded to it. At the groove bottom, a thickness of the coating may be at most about 3 mm. At the groove bottom, the thickness of the coating may be substantially less than half a thickness of the at least one hoisting rope running in the one or more rope grooves. At the groove sides, the thickness of the coating may be at most about 3 mm. The coating may be thicker at the groove bottom than at the groove sides.

A method and a system for the positioning of the elevator car and the door of the elevator in the condition monitoring system are provided. In the method the accelerations of the elevator car and the door of the elevator are measured with a sensor. By integrating the acceleration information two times in relation to time the position information is determined. When the condition monitoring system detects a fault, forecasts a malfunction occurring in the future or detects a significant change in the operation of the elevator or in the measuring signals related to the elevator, it is possible to attach to this information the location of the fault or event i.e. the position of the elevator or the position of a door of a certain floor level on the slide path. The position information can be synchronized to a separate reference point by means of a positioned switch by making an adjustment to the position information at the reference point. The measuring error caused by the misalignment of the position of the sensor is compensated for either with electronics or using a program.

Positioning method in an elevator system

The present invention presents a method and a system for the positioning of the elevator car and the door of the elevator in the condition monitoring system. In the method the accelerations of the elevator car and the door of the elevator are measured with sensors. By integrating the acceleration information two times in relation to time the position information is determined. When the condition monitoring system detects a fault, forecasts a malfunction occurring in the future or detects a significant change in the operation of the elevator or in the measuring signals related to the elevator, it is possible to attach to this information the location of the fault or event i.e. the position of the elevator or the position of a door of a certain floor level on the slide path. The position information can be synchronized to a separate reference point by means of a positioned switch by making an adjustment to the position information at the reference point. The measuring error caused by the misalignment of the position of the acceleration sensor is compensated for either with electronics or using a program.

A wall, ceiling or floor for an elevator car and to an elevator car in which these items are used has a specific structure. The structure includes sheets having on one side, at opposite edges, edge parts oriented in a direction differing from that of a sheet surface, adjacent sheets being attached to each other by attachment surfaces formed in the edge parts (3,4). The other sides of the sheets i. e. the sides opposite to the edge parts, are arranged to form a continuous exterior surface of the elevator car, an interior wall element forms an interior surface of the elevator car and is attached to the edge parts of the sheets (1).
