A compressor includes a compressor bundle and an outer casing. Between the outer casing and the compressor bundle a thermal shield is provided, for reducing thermal stress and visco-plastic deformation of the casing under severe operating conditions.

Compressor with a thermal shield and methods of operation

A turboexpander-generator unit including a casing with a gas inlet and a gas outlet. The unit further comprises a turboexpander having a turboexpander rotor mounted on a shaft supported for rotation in the casing, and an electric generator arranged in the casing and comprised of a generator stator and a generator rotor mounted on the shaft, for co-rotation with the turboexpander rotor. The unit also comprises a plurality of bearings configured and arranged for rotatingly supporting the shaft in the casing. A gas flow path from the gas inlet to the gas outlet, which extends through the turboexpander and the electric generator. Compressed working gas expands in the turboexpander and generates mechanical power for rotating the generator rotor. The expanded working gas from the turboexpander flow through the electric generator and removes heat therefrom. The bearings comprise gas-lubricated bearings, lubricated with the working gas.

An integrated pressure compensating heat exchanger and method of use are provided. The integrated pressure compensating heat exchanger includes an inlet configured to input an internal fluid; a first conductive bellows connected to the inlet, configured to accept the internal fluid from the inlet, configured to transfer heat between the internal fluid and an external fluid, and configured to compensate for a pressure by compressing in length; and an outlet configured to accept the internal fluid from the first conductive bellows and to output the internal fluid.

Integrated pressure compensating heat exchanger and method

A turbomachine includes a compressor having a cartridge that is configured to slide in and out of an external casing. The turbomachine further includes an electrical motor having a motor shaft configured to be connected to the compressor shaft. A conduit is configured to extend through the statoric part of the compressor or the motor, from a first magnetic bearing to the second magnetic bearing. The conduit includes conduit electrical cables provided inside the conduit and extending from a first end of the conduit to a second end of the conduit; and electrical cables connecting one of the first and second magnetic bearings to an external connector via the conduit electrical cables of the conduit.

Method, pad and bearing device for oil redistribution. The bearing device includes a ring having at least one retaining head, at least one pad disposed inside the ring and having a bottom recess portion configured to receive the at least one retaining head, an oil distribution mechanism configured to inject oil at a leading edge of the at least one pad to flow towards a trailing edge of the at least one pad, and an oil redistribution mechanism on the at least one pad configured to redistribute the oil from the trailing edge of the at least one pad to the leading edge of the at least one pad. The leading edge is a first edge and the trailing edge is a second edge of the at least one pad encountered when traveling along a circumference of the ring in a direction of rotation of a rotor supported by the at least one pad.
