A vehicle comprises a first lighting assembly disposed to the left of a longitudinal axis of the vehicle and comprising a first array of independently operable light emitting diodes and a first projection lens arranged to form a front left light beam for the vehicle from light output from the first array of light emitting diodes, a second lighting assembly disposed to the right of the longitudinal axis of the vehicle and comprising a second array of independently operable light emitting diodes and a second projection lens arranged to form a front right light beam for the vehicle from the second array of light emitting diodes, and a controller configured to control activation of the light emitting diodes in the first array of light emitting diodes to adjust an angle between the front left light beam and the longitudinal axis of the vehicle and to control activation of the light emitting diodes in the second array of light emitting diodes to adjust an angle between the front right light beam and the longitudinal axis of the vehicle.

The invention describes a lighting assembly for use in a lighting arrangement of a vehicle. The lighting assembly includes a projection lens and a light source array, wherein a center of the light source array and an optical axis of the projection lens have a lateral offset, and light sources of the light source array are individually controllable to adjust a swivel angle of a light beam generated by that lighting assembly. The invention further describes a controller for controlling the light sources of such a lighting assembly. The invention also describes a lighting arrangement for a vehicle, comprising such a lighting assembly and such a controller for controlling the light sources of the lighting assembly to adjust the swivel angle of the light beam. The invention also describes a method of generating a front beam for a vehicle comprising such a lighting assembly.

Disclosed is a lighting module () comprising a carrier () having a major surface () including a plurality of first regions () and a plurality of second regions (), each second region being adjacent to a first region. The lighting module also has a plurality of light engines (), each light engine being located in a first region of said carrier, and an optically transmissive light exit structure () facing the major surface and being spatially separated therefrom. Each first region is covered by a separate cover () that is optically transmissive and acoustically reflective. Each cover has a surface portion with a surface normal () under a non-zero angle (&#x3b8;) with the surface normal () of the light exit structure so that it is shaped to reflect sound waves () towards an adjacent second region (). The invention provides a lighting panel, for use for example within a modular surface system, comprising one or more strips of solid state lighting elements associated with a reflector structure. The lighting panel is adapted for improved uniformity of light intensity across the width of its output area. Lighting elements comprise two or more subsets, each subset adapted to collectively generate a different light intensity profile across the width of the panel output window. The subsets are selectively adapted to generate profiles which, when blended, mutually offset one another's deviations from some common mean intensity across the width of the output window, thereby generating a combined intensity profile of improved uniformity. Embodiments include arrangements in which subsets of lighting elements are adapted to have differing actual or virtual optical path lengths to the reflector surface. Also provided are embodiments further comprising an acoustically absorbing back surface, for providing an acoustic dampening function.

Lighting panel adapted for improved uniformity of light output

There is provided a light-emitting acoustic panel that may be mounted in a ceiling. The light-emitting acoustic panel comprises a sound-absorbing layer and a light-transmissive layer arranged in parallel such that a space is formed in-between. In the space a light source and a reflector are arranged such that light emitted by the light source is redirected by the reflector and emitted towards a reflective side of the sound-absorbing layer. There is further a duct arranged through the light-emitting acoustic panel. In the duct, devices providing functionalities such as sensing, sound, lighting may be arranged. The outer surface of the duct, facing the space between the sound-absorbing layer and the light-transmissive layer comprises a specularly reflective surface.

A lighting device, or LED lamp is described with a base element for electrical contacting and mechanical mounting and an LED arrangement with at least one LED element. The LED arrangement is spaced from the base element along a longitudinal axis. In order to provide a lighting device and a lighting arrangement with a matched optical and thermal design, i.e. where both effective heat dissipation and an advantageous light intensity distribution are achieved, a lower heat dissipating structure is arranged between the base element and the LED arrangement. The lower heat dissipating structure includes a plurality of planar heat dissipation elements made out of a heat conducting material, shaped to have at a first longitudinal position along the longitudinal axis a first extension in cross-section, and at a second longitudinal position a second extension in cross-section. The first longitudinal position is arranged closer to the LED arrangement than the second longitudinal position, and the first extension is smaller than the second extension in order to minimize obstruction of light emitted from the LED arrangement.

The second distance (D) is at least as large as the first distance (D). The distance (D) between the light source carrier () and the diffusing element () provides a mixing space which facilitates provision of a more uniform illumination.
