A process can be used for preparing nanoparticles containing at least one bio-resorbable polyester. The nanoparticles are in the form of a powder with a Z-Average particle size Din the range of 1 to 450 nm, and with a polydispersity index PDI in the range of 0.01 to 0.5. The process involves emulsion-solvent extraction or emulsion-solvent evaporation, and application of ultrasonic sound.

Process for preparing nanoparticles in the form of a powder comprising a bio-resorbable polyester

A nanoparticle includes a core. The core includes a bio-resorbable polyester and a hydrophilic polymer. The hydrophilic polymer is a portion of the bio-resorbable polyester or a separate polymer. An acylated human lactoferrin-derived peptide is coated onto the core. The acylated human lactoferrin-derived peptide is a peptide with the amino acid sequence SEQ ID NO. 1: KCFQWQRNMRKVRGPPVSCIKR or an amino acid sequence, which does not differ by more than 8 amino acid positions from the sequence SEQ ID NO: 1. The N-terminus of the human lactoferrin-derived peptide is acylated with a C-monoacyl group.

A process for preparing poly(lactide-co-glycolide) copolymer particles with an average particle size in the range of 50-800 nm includes transferring a mixture of poly(lactide-co-glycolide) copolymer, ethanol and carbon dioxide from a first reactor into a second reactor under rapid reduction of the pressure and expansion with phase separation into a gas phase, an ethanol aerosol and an ethanolic suspension containing poly(lactide-co-glycolide) copolymer particles, removing the carbon dioxide gas and the ethanol aerosol from the second reactor, and obtaining the poly(glycolide-co-lactide) copolymer particles in the form of an ethanolic suspension or in dry form from the second reactor.
