The present disclosure is drawn to a fabric print medium including a fabric substrate, a primary coating layer, and a secondary coating layer. The fabric substrate can have a first side and a second side. The primary coating layer can be applied to the first side of the fabric substrate at a thickness from 2 &#x3bc;m to 250 &#x3bc;m with a dry coat weight ranging from about 5 gsm to about 300 gsm and can include a polymeric binder and filler particles. The secondary coating layer can be applied to the primary coating layer at a thickness from 1 &#x3bc;m to 50 &#x3bc;m with a dry coat weight ranging from 0.5 gsm to 50 gsm and can include a first crosslinked polymeric network and a second crosslinked polymeric network. The primary coating layer can be two or more times thicker than the secondary coating layer.

Fabric print media

The present disclosure is drawn to image-receiving compositions that can include an aqueous liquid vehicle and solids dispersed in the aqueous liquid vehicle. The solids can include from 60 wt % to 94 wt % pigment filler, from 0.5 wt % to 15 wt % multivalent salt, from 1 wt % to 10 wt % water-soluble polymer, from 2 wt % to 15 wt % latex, and from 2 wt % to 15 wt % synthetic micronized cellulose. The synthetic micronized cellulose can have a bulk density of from 150 grams per liter to 200 grams per liter, and a surface area of 0.1 m/g to 10 m/g.

Image-receiving compositions

The present disclosure is drawn to a coated print medium, a method of preparing a print medium, and a printing system. The coated print medium can comprise a substrate and a coating applied to the substrate. The coating can comprise, by dry weight percent, 5 wt % to 30 wt % of a polymeric binder, 20 wt % to 50 wt % of a cationic latex, 5 wt % to 15 wt % of a multivalent cationic salt, and 1 wt % to 20 wt % of an optical brightener; and 5 wt % to 20 wt % of a cationic polyamine.

Coated print medium

A coated print medium can include a base stock having a basis weight of 35 gsm to 250 gsm, and a coating layer applied to the base stock at from 1 gsm to 50 gsm by dry weight. The base stock can include from 65 wt % to 95 wt % cellulose fiber with 80 wt % to 100 wt % being chemical pulp, and from 5 wt % to 35 wt % inorganic pigment filler. The coating layer can include inorganic pigment particles having an average equivalent spherical diameter from 0.2 &#x3bc;m to 3.5 &#x3bc;m; a fixative agent including metal salt, cationic amine polymer, quaternary ammonium salt, quaternary phosphonium salt, or mixture thereof; and a polymer blend including water soluble polymer and water dispersible polymer having a Zeta potential greater than &#x2212;40 mV, wherein a weight ratio water soluble polymer to water dispersible polymer is from 1:25 to 1:1.

Coated print media

The present disclosure is drawn to coated print media, a method of preparing print media, and a printing system. The coated print media can comprise a substrate and a coating applied to the substrate. The coating can include, by dry weight, 5 wt % to 60 wt % of a polymeric binder having a Tg below 50 C, 10 wt % to 60 wt % of cationic latex having a Tg from 50 C to 130 C, 5 wt % to 30 wt % of a multivalent cationic salt, and 2 wt % to 25 wt % of a high density polyethylene wax.

The present disclosure is drawn to a coated print medium, a method of preparing a print medium, and a printing system. The coated print medium can comprise a substrate and a coating applied to the substrate. The coating can comprise, by solids or dry weight, 5 wt % to 30 wt % of a polymeric binder, 20 wt % to 50 wt % of a cationic latex, 5 wt % to 15 wt % of a multivalent cationic salt, and 1 wt % to 20 wt % of a sulfonic acid- or sulfonate-containing stilbene optical brightener.

The present disclosure is drawn to a coated print medium, a method of preparing a print medium, and a printing system. The coated print medium can comprise a substrate and a coating applied to the substrate. The coating can comprise, by dry weight, 5 wt % to 30 wt % of a polymeric binder, 20 wt % to 50 wt % of a cationic latex, 5 wt % to 15 wt % of a multivalent cationic salt, 1 wt % to 20 wt % of an optical brightener, and 1 wt % to 10 wt % of an anti-quenching agent selected from the group consisting of a sulfonated diphenyloxide, polyvinyl pyrrolidone, and combination thereof. In this example, if the polymeric binder is polyvinyl pyrrolidone, the anti-quenching agent is the sulfonated diphenyloxide.

A printable recording media containing a substrate; a pre-coat layer including more than about 60 wt % of one or more inorganic pigments by total dry weight of the pre-coat layer; a topcoating layer including more than about 60 wt % of one or more inorganic pigments; up to 25 wt % of binders and up to about 5 wt % of a combination of natural and synthetic rheology modifiers, by total weight of the top-coating layer, wherein the ratio of the amount of natural rheology modifiers to the amount of synthetic rheology modifiers is from about 90:10 to about 50:50. Also disclosed herein is a method for making such printable recording media.

Printable recording media

A lightweight digital printing medium has a basis weight of less than 100 grams per square meter and includes a base paper. The base paper includes a fiber mixture of hardwood pulp and softwood pulp where at least 5% by weight of total fiber in the fiber mixture is bleached, chemi-thermo-mechanical pulp. An internal sizing agent for neutral or alkaline conditions and a wet-strength agent that is a thermosetting resin are mixed with the fiber mixture. An amount of the wet-strength agent added to the fiber mixture is at least 0.1% total dry weight of the base paper.

Lightweight digital printing medium

A printable recording media containing a substrate and an ink receiving layer including an aqueous mixture of about 50 to about 99 wt % of an UV curable polyurethane dispersion and about 1 to about 50 wt % of a photo-initiator by total dry weight of said ink receiving layer. Also disclosed herein a method for making the printable recording media.

A print medium having a base substrate including a blend of cellulosic fibers, a sizing material present in an effective amount from about 0 Kg/Ton of the print medium to about 1 Kg/Ton of the print medium, and a multivalent cation salt present in a synergistic amount from about 4 Kg/Ton of the print medium to about 25 Kg/Ton of the print medium.

Print media for inkjet printing

A sizing composition includes from about 3 kg/ton to about 15 kg/ton of calcium propionate, an additive, and a balance of water. The additive is selected from the group consisting of starch, an optical brightener, a biocide, a defoamer, a surface size agent, a wet strength additive, and combinations thereof. The sizing composition has a pH ranging from 7 to 8.
