An x-ray detector system has a detector element disposed at the end of a channel formed by spaced collimator plates. The thickness of each collimator plate projected onto the detector element increases along the length of the collimator plates in the direction of radiation propagation through the channel. The projection (and thus the thickness) has a greatest value at a detector-proximate end of the plate. The edge regions of the detector element are thus shielded from x-radiation by the extended width collimator plates. The length of the absorption paths in the detector element thus are substantially the same, even given a detector element which is slightly obliquely disposed. Thus the shape of the portion of the detector surface effective for detecting radiation is substantially independent of slight changes in the focus position.

X-ray detector system

An x-ray detector system has a collimator with a number of spaced walls respectively defining collimator channels therebetween. A detector element is disposed at the end of each collimator channel in the direction of radiation propagation. Each detector element has a radiation transducer contained in a housing. Each transducer has a width which is substantially the same at the width of the collimator channel with which it is associated, and the lateral walls of the detector element housing are substantially in registry with the collimator walls in the direction of radiation propagation, so as to lie within the shadow of the collimator walls. This x-ray detector system thereby achieves a high filling factor.

A collimator for a radiation diagnostics apparatus has two parallel spaced carriers each having a slot therein directed toward the radiation focus in which a collimator plate consisting of radiation absorbing material is inserted. The collimator plate is a sheet having at least one resilient tongue cut therein at each edge thereof which is received in the respective slots. The tongues are bent so as to project beyond the thickness of the plate and thus are disposed against an inside surface of the slots and thereby press the collimator plate against opposite respective surfaces of the slots.

Collimator for a radiation diagnostics apparatus

The illustrated embodiment shows a film feeder for feeding individual film sheets to automatic developers. The film feeder has a magazine for receiving a stack of the film sheets, an extraction device and a transport device for transferring the individual film sheets extracted from the magazine into the automatic developer. The transport device contains an apparatus for selectively rotating the film sheets by approximately 45.degree. about their surface normal, and may be utilized with automatic developers which normally receive large-format films sheets, to enable the use of such developers with sheets of substantially shorter length dimension (e.g. 100 mm).
