System and methods for PDCCH monitoring in new radio

Systems and methods for beam failure recovery (BFR) are disclosed herein. A user equipment (UE) receives downlink (DL) reference signal(s) on corresponding beam(s) from a base station. The UE performs beam failure detection (BFD) on such beams used for user data to determine whether a beam failure has occurred, and candidate beam detection (CBD) on such beams not used for user data to identify candidate beams for recovering from the beam failure. The BFD and the CBD are based on both uplink (UL) channel performance considerations and DL channel performance considerations, as determined using the DL reference signal(s), such that a beam failure may be determined in the UL, the DL, or both, and a candidate beam may be identified for UL, DL, or both. The UE sends a beam failure recovery request BFRQ with this information to the base station, and the system changes beams accordingly.

A number of PSSCH DMRS resource elements (REs) is calculated based on the PSSCH DMRS locations and a scheduled number of PSSCH sub-channels. The processor is further configured to determine or receive a timing advance (TA) indicating amount of subframes transmitted during a time delay between the UE and the BS and schedule a downlink transmission aligned with the uplink transmission. The downlink transmission is blocked from subframes ranging from TA plus one or more subframes ahead of the first uplink subframe to TA minus one or more subframes ahead of the last uplink subframe. The processor is further configured to transmit and receive, via a non-terrestrial equipment, the uplink and the downlink.

Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for communications between user equipment. One of the methods includes receiving, by a first device and from a second device, sidelink control information indicating a resource reservation for a single-slot resource for the second device to use to communicate with the first device; determining, by the first device and based at least in part on the sidelink control information, whether a potential resource collision exists when the first device is scheduled to communicate with another device using the single-slot resource or when the single-slot resource is reserved by another device; and in response to determining that the potential resource collision exists, sending, by the first device and within a predetermined number of slots from a reference slot, a collision message to cause the second device to determine another single-slot resource to use to communicate with the first device.

Disclosed are methods and apparatus to process delay for PDCCH repetition. A transmission of a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) repetition may be monitored. A multiplexing pattern of the PDCCH repetition and a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) within an overlapping symbol may be determined. A processing delay for a decoding of the PDCCH repetition, a decoding of the scheduled PDSCH, and an acknowledgement (ACK) preparation based on the multiplexing pattern of the PDCCH repetition and the PDSCH within the overlapping symbol may be determined. The PDSCH may be monitored after receiving the PDCCH repetition.

Method for processing delay for PDCCH repetitions

A UE may transmit a message comprising information regarding one or more physical random access channel (PRACH) capabilities of the UE to a base station (BS). The UE may then receive, from the BS, signaling comprising an indication of one or more configured PRACH formats supporting the one or more PRACH capabilities. Next, the UE may transmit, using the one or more configured PRACH formats, one or more preambles to the BS in a random access (RACH) procedure. Accordingly, the UE may receive a random access response (RAR) from the base station and further, in response to receiving the RAR, establish a connection with the BS.

Physical random access channel enhancements in new radio

Systems and methods used by reduced sensing user equipment (UE) (relative to a full sensing UE) are disclosed herein. A UE performing partial sensing may use knowledge of resource reservation periods for a resource pool of one or more resources to reduce sensing as compared to the full sensing case. A UE performing resource re-evaluation and/or resource pre-emption may use one or more sensing windows that are relatively smaller than windows used in the full sensing case to reduce sensing. A UE performing prioritized resource selection may use a sensing window to determine availability of resources within it prioritized resource selection window with a high reliability, thereby reducing the need to spend power on other sensing methods (which may include full sensing methods). Combinations of these embodiments are also contemplated.

According to embodiments of the present disclosure, a user equipment (UE) comprises a transceiver configured to communicate with a network; and a processor communicatively coupled to the transceiver and configured to perform operations. The operations comprise determining a UE assistance information for uplink (UL) Simultaneous Transmission on Multiple Panels (STxMP). The operations further comprise reporting the UE assistance information to the network device. The operations further comprise receiving a UL STxMP enabling indication from the network device. The operations further comprise performing UL STxMP with the network device when the received UL STxMP enabling indication indicates that UL STxMP is enabled.

Simultaneous uplink transmission on multiple panels in wireless communication

Some aspects of this disclosure relate to apparatuses and methods for implementing mechanisms for a network to use Doppler shift pre-compensation values for communicating Tracking Reference Signal (TRS) to a user equipment (UE) and for implementing mechanisms for triggering the UE to measure the Doppler shift pre-compensated TRS. Some aspects of this disclosure relate to a base station including a processor that determines a Doppler shift pre-compensation value associated with the UE in response to determining that the UE is moving with a speed greater than a threshold. The processor further generates an aperiodic Tracking Reference Signal (AP-TRS) or a semi persistent TRS (SP-TRS) for the UE. The AP-TRS or the SP-TRS is decoupled from a periodic TRS (P-TRS). The processor further transmits the AP-TRS or the SP-TRS to the UE. The AP-TRS or the SP-TRS can be used for time and frequency synchronization.

Tracking reference signal (TRS) enhancement with doppler shift pre-compensation

Some embodiments include an apparatus, method, and computer program product for enhanced Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request (HARQ)-ACK in a fifth generation (5G) wireless communications system. A user equipment (UE) can receive, during a HARQ-ACK window, a semi-persistent scheduling (SPS) Physical Downlink Shared Channel (PDSCH) transmission or a Physical Downlink Control Channel (PDCCH) transmission corresponding to a SPS PDSCH release. The UE can generate a Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request (HARQ)-ACK information bit corresponding to the reception. The UE can be configured with an offset value, k, and a length, l, of the HARQ-ACK window associated with an uplink transmission slot n, of a Physical Uplink Control Channel (PUCCH) transmission, and determine a starting slot of the HARQ-ACK window as n-k. When a corresponding valid uplink transmission slot is not available, the UE can transmit the HARQ-ACK information bit in the uplink transmission slot n of the PUCCH transmission.
