Some embodiments include an apparatus, method, and computer program product for enhanced Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request (HARQ)-ACK in a fifth generation (5G) wireless communications system. A user equipment (UE) can receive, during a HARQ-ACK window, a semi-persistent scheduling (SPS) Physical Downlink Shared Channel (PDSCH) transmission or a Physical Downlink Control Channel (PDCCH) transmission corresponding to a SPS PDSCH release. The UE can generate a Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request (HARQ)-ACK information bit corresponding to the reception. The UE can be configured with an offset value, k, and a length, l, of the HARQ-ACK window associated with an uplink transmission slot n, of a Physical Uplink Control Channel (PUCCH) transmission, and determine a starting slot of the HARQ-ACK window as n-k. When a corresponding valid uplink transmission slot is not available, the UE can transmit the HARQ-ACK information bit in the uplink transmission slot n of the PUCCH transmission.

Method for enhanced HARQ-ACK feedback in wireless communications

A user equipment (UE) may increase the reliability of transmission of a Physical Uplink Control Channel (PUCCH) by transmitting repeated copies of the PUCCH, according to a repetition pattern spanning one or more slots. In an intra-slot mode, more than one copy may be transmitted within each configured slot, with or without frequency hopping. The number of copies as well as a temporal gap between the transmission of successive copies may be configured by the network. The repetition pattern may or may not be interrupted by slot boundaries. In an inter-slot mode, one copy is transmitted per configured slot. Different copies may be transmitted in different directions, according to a spatial consistency pattern. The UE may perform repeated transmission of PUCCHs to different Transmission-Reception Points (TRPs) using respectively different timing advances and/or transmit power levels.

PUCCH repetition to increase the reliability of PUCCH transmission

Apparatus and methods are provided to for a user equipment (UE) to report channel state information (CSI) to a base station. The UE sends UE capability signaling to a base station to indicate support of a codebook for high speed scenarios. The UE processes configuration information from the base station for CSI reporting using the codebook. The configuration information indicates measurement resources for one or more downlink (DL) channel. The UE measures a channel response and interference using the measurement resources, generates CSI feedback using the codebook for at least one ray from the base station to the UE, and reports the CSI feedback to the base station.

Predictive CSI enhancements for high speed scenarios

To support inter-cell multi-TRP operation, disclosed are embodiments that provide a beam indication for the common signals, e.g., signals transmitted and scheduled by some CSS. The disclosed embodiments provide inter-cell multi-TRP with or without serving cell change. In addition, some embodiments provide for switching between inter-cell multi-TRP and intra-cell multi-TRP.

In an example method, a user equipment (UE) device receives a plurality of Synchronization Signal Block (SSB) beams transmitted by base stations (BSes) during discovery burst transmission windows (DBTWs). For each of the SSB beams, the UE device determines an index value of the SSB beam (l) within a respective one of the DBTWs, and determines a value Z=lmod N, where Nrepresents a maximum allowable number of SSB beams transmitted by each of the BSes during a single DBTW. The UE device determines whether two or more of the SSB beams are quasi co-located based on the values Z for the SSB beams, and processes wireless signals received from the BSes based on the determination.

A cell performs beam management operations for a user equipment (UE). The cell transmits a first group of multiple reference signals via a first transmission reception point (TRP) to a user equipment (UE), transmits a second group of multiple reference signals via a second different TRP to the UE, receives an indication that the UE has selected a first beam associated with one of the multiple reference signals of the first group and a second beam associated with one of the multiple reference signals of the second group and transmits downlink data to the UE using the first beam and the second beam.

A method, apparatus, and a computer-readable storage medium are provided for constructing a HARQ-ACK codebook for managing the trade-off between codebook size and feedback granularity. In an example implementation, the method may include a network node determining a second time domain resource allocation table and transmitting configuration information to the UE. The method may further include the network node transmitting downlink data to the UE and receiving the one or more ACKs and/or NACKs from the UE in response to the transmitting of the downlink data, the one or more ACKs/NACKs being generated based at least on the second time resource allocation table. In another example implementation, the method may include a user equipment (UE) receiving configuration information from a network node, receiving downlink data from the network node, and transmitting one or more ACKs/NACKs to the network node.

Flexible semi-static HARQ-ACK codebook overhead

Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for communications between user equipment. One of the methods includes receiving, by a first device and from a second device, sidelink control information indicating a resource reservation for a single-slot resource for the second device to use to communicate with the first device; determining, by the first device and based at least in part on the sidelink control information, whether a potential resource collision exists when the first device is scheduled to communicate with another device using the single-slot resource or when the single-slot resource is reserved by another device; and in response to determining that the potential resource collision exists, sending, by the first device and within a predetermined number of slots from a reference slot, a collision message to cause the second device to determine another single-slot resource to use to communicate with the first device.

Inter-device communication

In sidelink carrier aggregation, a first user equipment (UE) transmits data packets to a second UE using a plurality of carriers. The second UE transmits Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request (HARQ) ACK/NACK information for the data packets to the first UE via one or more Physical Sidelink Feedback Channels (PSFCHs). The aggregated carriers may be constrained to have the same PSFCH configuration, or not. Resource selection for PSSCH transmission may be performed by considering scheduled PSFCH so as to conform to transmit capability limitations and/or a half-duplex limitation of the first UE and/or the second UE. The PSFCH may be transmitted on a single carrier of said plurality, but include joint HARQ feedback for each of the carriers. Furthermore, HARQ feedback may be transmitted on a Physical Sidelink Shared Channel (PSSCHs), being signaled by the receive UE (i.e., the UE that transmits the feedback) via sidelink control information (SCI).

Feedback for multi-carrier sidelink communication

Techniques of beamforming in reference signal (RS) transmissions, applicable to frequency ranges including frequencies between 52.6 GHz and 71 GHz, are described. Such techniques may include determining a communication channel is unoccupied for an initial duration, determining a number of communication slots of the communication channel to defer for transmission, and counting one or more communication slots of the communication channel that are not in use. The techniques may include determining the number of counted one or more communication slots is not equal to the determined number of communication slots of the communication channel to defer, and transmitting one or more data units based on the determination that the number of the counted one or more communication slots is not equal to the determined number of communication slots of the communication channel to defer.

A wireless device and a cellular base station may establish a wireless link. The wireless device may receive an indication from the cellular base station of an 8 transmit antenna port uplink configuration to use, which may include a one or more transmit precoding matrix indicators. The wireless device may perform uplink communication with the cellular base station using the 8 transmit antenna port configuration.

A coordinating UE may determine to transmit, to a source UE, a set of resources for the source UE to use for sidelink communications. The determination may be based, at least in part, on an occurrence of at least one condition. The at least one condition may include the coordinating UE receiving a sidelink coordination request message form the source UE, the coordinating UE detecting a resource reservation collision between the source UE and a destination UE, and/or the coordinating UE detecting a half-duplex restriction at the source UE or the destination UE. The coordinating UE may transmit an inter-UE coordination message to the source UE. The inter-UE coordination message may include at least an indication of the set of resources.

Apparatuses, systems, and methods for utilization of an inter-UE coordination message. A UE may receive, from a first UE, an inter-UE coordination message. The inter-UE coordination message may include an indication of a set of resources and an indication of whether the set of resources are preferred resources or non-preferred resources.
