A multibed catalyzer () is for an exhaust system of a combustion engine, of a motor vehicle. In a housing (), at least two catalytic monoliths () are arranged axially adjacent to be flowed-through in succession. The two monoliths () are encased on the circumferential side by a common heat-resistance bearing mat () and supported by means of this bearing mat () in the housing (). In order to enable a predetermined axial minimal distance between the two monoliths (), at least two heat-resistant distancing elements () are distributed circumferentially and axially between the two monoliths (), so that the monoliths are axially supported on one another by means of the distancing elements ().

Multi-bed catalyzer

A muffler has an integrated SCR catalytic converter for an exhaust line of an internal combustion engine, in particular in a motor vehicle The muffler includes a housing which has an intake trumpet on the intake end and an exhaust pipe on the output end. Catalytic converter elements are arranged in the housing with one inlet end in an inlet chamber and with an outlet end in an outlet chamber. An outlet end of the intake trumpet communicates with the inlet chamber. To improve the efficiency of the SCR catalytic converter the inlet chamber is sealed off from the outside and with respect to the intake trumpet and the catalytic converter elements to the extent that in operation of the internal combustion engine with exhaust gas loaded with urea, passing through the intake trumpet into the inlet chamber, the exhaust gas leaves the inlet chamber only through the catalytic converter elements.

Muffler with an integrated catalytic converter

An exhaust gas muffler of multi-chamber construction includes an outer housing having an upper and lower half shell, an inner shell, and an inner exhaust gas duct through the exhaust gas muffler. The inner exhaust gas duct has at lease one curved outlet pipe that has a first curved section and a straight outlet end runs flush with the outer housing. The invention also covers a method for the production of the multi-chamber exhaust gas muffler.

Multiple-chambered exhaust muffler

A special bearing mat () is used for mounting and insulating ceramic monoliths () in a preferably oval housing () of an automobile exhaust system (), especially for non-round housing cross sections. The bearing mat () and/or said housing is/are specially structured and/or chemically treated, especially impregnated at the points which are at risk of eroding (A) in order to increase resistance to erosion. The bearing mat () is adapted to suit the functioning of the exhaust system () during operation and is especially configured with several layers.

An exhaust gas system for an internal combustion engine, in particular, of a motor vehicle has two mufflers through which the exhaust gas is able to flow in a parallel fashion. A switching unit makes it possible to selectively convey the exhaust gas flow of the internal combustion engine only or almost exclusively through the first muffler, or only or almost exclusively through the second muffler, or through both mufflers in a parallel fashion. The two mufflers are realized differently with respect to their muffling effect and/or flow resistance.

Exhaust gas system

An exhaust gas cooler for an internal combustion engine, preferably in a motor vehicle, includes a housing through which exhaust gas can flow in the longitudinal direction and in which a partition extends in the longitudinal direction and separates a first chamber from a second chamber. An inlet communicates in the housing with a first chamber and through which the exhaust gas flows into the housing. An outlet communicates in the housing at least with the second chamber and via which the exhaust gas flows out of the housing. The partition has at least one overflow opening through which the first chamber communicates with the second chamber.
