The present invention relates to a processor and a system (') for screening of the state of oxygenation of a subject (), in particular for screening of newborn babies for congenital heart disease. The system comprises an imaging unit () for obtaining a plurality of image frames of the subject () over time, and a processor () for processing the image frames. The imaging unit, for instance a conventional video camera as used in the vital signs monitoring using the above mentioned principle of remote PPG, is used as a contact less pulse oximeter, by use of which a body map (for at least some body parts of interest) of at least the blood oxygen saturation is created. Picking certain body areas, e.g. right upper extremity versus left upper and/or lower extremity, and combining or comparing them can serve the purpose of detecting anomalies of heart and/or circuitry functions.

System for screening of the state of oxygenation of a subject

A device for obtaining vital sign information of a living being comprises a detection unit that receives light in at least one wavelength interval reflected from at least a region of interest of a living being and that generates an input signal from the received light. A processing unit processes the input signal and derives vital sign information of the living being from the input signal by use of remote photoplethysmography. An illumination unit illuminates at least the region of interest with light, and a control unit controls the illumination unit based on the input signal and/or the derived vital sign information.

When monitoring blood oxygen levels in a patient during a magnetic resonance scan, detachable and reusable fiber optic cable heads () are coupled to an SpOmonitor and to a hinged finger clip () on a patient. The finger clip () includes apertures () and a retaining structure () to which a coupling portion of the fiber heads () are releasable attached. The retaining structure includes retaining clips (), slots (), or the like that flexibly receive and align the fiber heads (). The retaining structure () may be deformable, such that detachment of the fiber heads () at the end of the MR scan renders the finger clip () unusable to ensure that the clip is not reused, thereby preventing cross-infection between patients. Alternatively, the finger clip () may be reusable and the retaining clips may be designed to withstand repeated attachment and detachment of the fiber heads (). A compressible foam or plastic layer is coupled to the interior of the clip portions to provide a snug fit. A transparent layer () attached to the foam or plastic layer permits light to pass through the foam/plastic aperture while preventing the fiber heads () from contacting the patient's skin.

The present invention relates to a system for monitoring light and sound impact on a patient. It comprises a light capturing unit () for capturing ambient light at the person over time and a sound capturing unit () for capturing ambient sound at the person over time. A threshold unit () generates and issues a trigger signal if the brightness of captured ambient light exceeds a brightness level and/or if the sound level of captured ambient sound exceeds a sound threshold. A stress level processor () determines the stress level of the person. A storing unit () stores, in response to a received trigger signal, snippets of ambient light and ambient sound captured around the time moment of receiving the trigger signal and snippets of stress level information of the person around the time moment of receiving the trigger signal. A review unit () is provided to review stored snippets of ambient light, ambient sound and stress level information allowing to identify the root cause of the ambient light and ambient sound stored in a reviewed snippet and to derive guidance information indicating how to avoid such light and/or sound caused by an identified root cause.

System, method and device for monitoring light and sound impact on a person

A method of determining at least the concentration of a component from the intensity of electromagnetic waves with at least two selected wavelengths which are reflected by human tissue or transmitted through human tissue comprises firstly the step of converting the intensities of the received electromagnetic signals into at least one first and one second time-dependent electric signal. Then a time-discrete transformation of the first and of the second electric signal into the frequency domain is performed to determine first and second spectral values of the first and of the second signal. Complex combinatorial values are formed from said first and second spectral values and physiologically relevant combinatorial values are selected by evaluating the complex combinatorial values according to given criteria for the physiological relevance thereof. Finally, the concentration of the component is calculated by using the selected combinatorial values or by using the frequencywise-associated spectral values.

Method and apparatus for determining the concentration of a component

Disclosed is the determining of a composition of a gas mixture comprising an amount of one or more noble gases. A Raman spectrum of the gas mixture is measured first, and the amount(s) of Raman-active gas(es) in the gas mixture are determined based on the measured Raman spectrum. The amount of the (Raman non-active) one or more noble gases in the gas mixture can then be determined from the determined amount(s) of Raman-active gas(es). The composition of the gas mixture can also be determined by analyzing the Raman scattering in combination with the Rayleigh scattering. Based on the measured Raman spectrum, the expected intensifies of the Rayleigh lines of the Raman-active gases in the gas mixture are determined. The amount of the noble gas in the gas mixture is represented by the difference of the summed up Rayleigh lines of the Raman-active gases to the Rayleigh line in the measured spectrum.

A method for measuring medical parameters of a patient by radiation of electromagnetic waves into a sample and for measurement and subsequent analysis of the electromagnetic waves which have passed through the sample, the following steps are carried out. The first and the second sinusoidal demodulated signals are set so as to have a phase difference relative to the first and second modulation signals corresponding to a system phase shift.

A sensor performs medical measurements, particularly pulsoximetric measurements, and is attached or otherwise adhered to a human fingernail or toenail by an inwardly concave, first casing part of a sensor.
