A mass balancing mechanism of an internal combustion engine, in which the mechanism includes a compensation shaft () formed as a tubular carrier shaft () having a mounting point () for the radial mounting of the compensation shaft. The mechanism further includes an unbalanced mass () joined to the carrier shaft. A needle roller bearing () is used for a radial rolling bearing-mounting of the compensation shaft, with the needle rollers () of the needle roller bearing being in rolling contact with the mounting point which is configured as an inner raceway and possesses a width which is variable in peripheral direction, so that, in a region situated diametrically opposite a load zone in whose peripheral region the inner raceway is loaded by the radial load of the unbalanced mass which rotates together with the compensation shaft, a width () of the inner raceway is smaller than the length of the needle rollers and tapers clearly or is interrupted in peripheral direction. The tapering or interruption of the inner raceway is produced by one or more trough-shaped depressions () formed locally in the carrier shaft.

Mass balancing mechanism

A mass balancing mechanism for balancing mass forces and/or mass torques of an internal combustion engine, said mechanism comprising a balancing shaft comprising an axis of rotation, a mass center of gravity spaced from said axis of rotation and further comprising at least one bearing peg on which said balancing shaft is mounted for rotation in a mounting location of the internal combustion engine, the bearing peg includes two axially spaced cylindrical bearing peg sections that define a recess which extends substantially or entirely outside of the axis of rotation relative to the mass center of gravity.

The invention relates to a method for the production of a drop-forged balancing shaft for a mass balancing gear of an internal combustion engine. The balancing shaft has an unbalanced plane formed by the rotational axis thereof and an eccentric mass center of gravity, and at least one bearing journal, the outer lateral surface of which serves as a track for a rolling bearing supporting the balancing shaft in the internal combustion engine. To this end, the balancing shaft is to be forged in a forging die having a parting plane extending in the direction of the rotational axis and rotated in relation to the unbalanced plane.

Method for the production of a drop-forged balancing shaft

A piston pump, especially for supplying high-pressure fuel to a direct-injection internal combustion engine, including a pump housing () and a drive shaft (to) for actuating one or several pump plungers () which are radially oriented relative to the drive shaft in the pump housing. The drive shaft is rotatably mounted on one or several bearings () extending between a shaft inlet () of the pump housing and a rear housing wall () located opposite the shaft inlet. A displacement joint includes an outer joint part having circumferentially spaced recesses to form tracks. A tripod is mounted in fixed rotative engagement to a driveshaft and includes a tripod spider which has spherical arms spaced circumferentially in symmetric disposition for engaging the recesses. Roller bearing assemblies are fitted in the outer joint part to support the tripod arms, with each tripod arm guided by two roller bearing assemblies. Each roller bearing assembly has a bearing shell, which receives the tripod arm, rolling members fitted with clearance in a cage and disposed between the track of the outer joint part and a contact surface of the bearing shell. The cage is guided by shoulders of the outer joint part, which laterally bound the track, wherein the cage has opposite collars in parallel relationship to the shoulders for providing an axial stop for the rolling members and the bearing shell.

A stop disk is arranged a bottom of the sleeve to absorb axial forces and roll bodies of the radial bearing are supported with the supporting surfaces at the stop disk.

A valve control device for a cam-shaft controlled exhaust valve of a cylinder of a motor vehicle internal combustion engine with an exhaust cutoff brake wherein an actuator closes a throttle valve in the exhaust of the cylinder to initiate a braking operation, characterized in that a hydraulic valve clearance compensation element is arranged between the cam-shaft and the exhaust valve whereby an adjusting piston is guided in a cylindrical body and is loaded by a return spring and a control element is provided to retain the adjusting piston relative to cylindrical body during braking in the adjusted position respectively reached at the beginning of the braking operation wherein the control element acts upon the hydraulic valve clearance compensation element during braking operation with a force which exceeds or at least corresponds to the force of the return spring of the hydraulic valve clearance compensation element and counteracts the latter.
