An electronically commutated electric motor has an internal stator () and an external rotor (). They are separated by an air gap (). A circuit board () equipped with openings (') is arranged on the internal stator (). The internal stator () has a lamination stack () that is equipped with a winding arrangement () whose terminals are implemented at least in part as wire segments (E,E,). The lamination stack () of the internal stator () is covered, at least locally, by an insulating layer () made of a thermally stable plastic. Implemented on said layer are supporting elements () that project from the internal stator () toward the circuit board () and serve to secure wire segments (E,E,) of the winding arrangement (). These supporting elements (), with the wire segments mounted thereon, are each arranged in an associated opening (&#x2032;) of the circuit board () and are there soldered thereto.

Electronically commutated electric motor and method for production thereof

In this method, a refrigerant () is compressed () in a refrigerating circuit, then condensed by cooling in a condenser (), then expanded in a throttle valve () and delivered in the expanded state, in the form of wet vapor (), to an evaporator () that is in thermally conductive contact with a substrate () to be cooled. The cooling process thus operates similarly to a liquid cooling process, but with a higher mean logarithmic heat transfer temperature difference, which allows lower temperatures of the substrate () to be achieved and makes possible a better heat transition coefficient, since the refrigerant is present as wet vapor. A corresponding arrangement is likewise described.

Method and arrangement for cooling a substrate, especially a semiconductor

An apparatus may include a heat exchanger and an equalizing vessel for equalizing changes in coolant volume. The heat exchanger may include an inflow for delivering coolant to the heat exchanger and an outflow for discharging coolant from the heat exchanger. The equalizing vessel may be closed off by a flexible membrane that follows changes in volume of the coolant. The equalizing vessel may include a first chamber that is in liquid communication with the inflow of the heat exchanger and a second chamber that is in liquid communication with the outflow of the heat exchanger. A filter may also be provided to filter the coolant.

An arrangement for dissipating heat from components producing high heat flux densities, such as computers, features a combination fan and fluid pump with a magnetic coupling () which acts across a fluid-tight partitioning can (). The pump has a pump wheel () connected to a first permanent magnet (), and an electronically commutated internal-rotor motor (ECM) to drive it. The motor has a stator () inside which is rotatably arranged a rotor () equipped with a second permanent magnet (). Interaction between the first and second permanent magnets creates the magnetic coupling (). The stator () of the internal-rotor motor () is arranged radially outside the magnetic coupling (). A first shaft (), arranged on the outer side of the can (), serves for rotatable journaling of the rotor () of the internal-rotor motor () and a second shaft () inside the can serves for journaling the pump rotor.

Arrangement for delivering fluids

An arrangement for conveying fluids has a fluid pump () implemented in the manner of a centrifugal pump, having a pump wheel () that is connected to a first permanent magnet (). The arrangement further has an electronically commutated internal-rotor motor () having a stator (), inside which stator is rotatably arranged a rotor () that is in turn connected to a second permanent magnet () that coacts with the first permanent magnet () in the manner of a magnetic coupling (). The arrangement also has a partitioning can () that separates the first permanent magnet () of the magnetic coupling (), which magnet is arranged inside said partitioning can (), in fluid-tight fashion from the second permanent magnet () arranged outside the partitioning can (), the stator () of the internal-rotor motor () being arranged substantially in the same drive plane as the magnetic coupling () and radially outside the latter.

Fluid transporting device

A fan structure, suitable for rack-mounting adjacent to heat-generating electrical equipment, features an improved noise-damping outflow baffle containing a plurality of non-return flaps, serving to prevent reverse flow of air when fan activity is interrupted. In a preferred embodiment, four generally sickle-shaped flaps are used, each connected, along a straight edge thereof, by a pair of elastomeric hinge connections to a surrounding frame. The hinge connections urge the flaps closed whenever they are not forced by airflow into an open orientation. The axes of rotation of the flaps are chosen to keep them from jamming against one another. Since the flaps act as vanes, tending to straighten out an originally helical flow of air induced by the fan, they minimize the pressure drop which has therefore been associated with outflow baffles. The use or elastomers at critical points in the structure reduce noise and clatter.

An arrangement, for heat dissipation from a component that is to be cooled, features: a pump for pumping a coolant, which pump comprises a pump rotor; a fan that comprises a fan rotor associated with which is an electric motor to drive it, the pump rotor and the fan rotor being separated from one another in fluid-tight fashion and drivingly connected to one another via a magnetic coupling. A corresponding method for heat dissipation from a component that is to be cooled, uses a fan having a fan rotor and a drive motor, a pump having a pump rotor, a coolant that is pumpable by means of the pump, to perform the steps of A) imparting a rotational motion to the fan rotor by means of the drive motor; B) imparting a rotational motion to the pump rotor via the magnetic coupling; and C) causing the coolant to flow by the rotational motion of the pump.

Arrangement and method for removing heat from a component which is to be cooled

A motor structure resistant to liquid intrusion features two modules, the first having an electronically commutated external-rotor motor (), which motor comprises an internal stator () that is arranged on a bearing tube () and is separated by a first air gap () from an external rotor (), which latter comprises a rotor cup () that is open at one end and is joined at its other end to a shaft () that is journalled in the bearing tube (), further having a permanent-magnet arrangement (), arranged at the open end of the rotor cup (), for magnetic interaction with a second permanent-magnet rotor (), forming part of the second module. The first module is separated from that second rotor () by a second air gap and forms therewith a magnetic coupling (), so that a rotation of the permanent-magnet arrangement () brings about a rotation of that second rotor (). A hermetic separation of the two modules is accomplished using a non-ferromagnetic separating element () arranged in the second air gap. The second module can safely be used to handle liquid, e.g. as a pump.
