A method is described for operating at least one magnetic switching element, at least one first connection of at least one sensor device being connected to at least one connection of a coil of the magnetic switching element, and the first connection or an additional connection of the sensor device being connected to a reference potential, and a measuring state being established in which at least one connection of the coil is essentially at least temporarily decoupled from the reference potential and/or from a source activating the coil, and at least one signal of at least one sensor of the sensor device being ascertained in the measuring state from at least one electrical potential at at least one connection of the coil.

Method for operating a switching element

In a method for operating a magnetic switching element, at least one connection of at least one sensor device is connected to at least one connection of a coil of the magnetic switching element, and at least one measuring state is established in which the at least one connection of the coil is largely at least temporarily decoupled from a ground, a voltage source, and/or a current source activating the coil, and at least one auxiliary voltage and/or at least one auxiliary current is/are applied to the at least one connection of the coil in the measuring state, and at least one sensor signal is ascertained from at least one electrical potential, at least one potential difference, and/or at least one current flowing at the connections of the coil.

Method for operating a magnetic switching element

The invention relates to a control chamber, the pressure of which determines the strokes or positions of a nozzle needle, and which is assigned to a force or pressure sensor in order to detect the progression of the control chamber pressure. Because the control chamber pressure significantly changes during the closing of the nozzle needle, the operating phases of the injector can be exactly determined from the sensor data and supplied to an engine controller.

Fuel injector

A method for operating a fuel injection system of an internal combustion engine is described. The fuel injection system has an injector for metering fuel into a combustion chamber of the internal combustion engine. The injector has an actuator, a control valve and a nozzle needle. In the method, the actuator is supplied a voltage and/or a current during an activation period. The control valve is set into a lifting motion by the actuator. The injector is opened and closed by the nozzle needle, using the lifting motion of the control valve. A further time period is ascertained. The further time period ends at the closing time of the nozzle needle. A function is ascertained, which links the activation period to the further time period. A shortest activation period, for which the nozzle needle opens and produces an injection, is ascertained with the aid of the function. An opening delay period (d) of the nozzle needle is ascertained as a function of the shortest time period.

Method for operating a fuel injection system of an internal combustion engine

A fuel injection valve for internal combustion engines has a valve housing composed of a first housing part and a second housing part which are connected to one another in a connecting region. In order to improve the strength of the connection in relation to the pressure of the fuel which prevails in an inner space, the housing wall of the first housing part is supported in the connecting region on the housing wall of the second housing part, and the housing wall of the second housing part is of reinforced design in the connecting region.

Fuel injection valve

The invention relates to a common rail injector for injecting fuel in a common rail injection system of an internal combustion engine, having an injector housing, which communicates with a central high-pressure reservoir and in which a nozzle needle is axially displaceable in order to adjust the injection as a function of the pressure in a control chamber, and having a sealing element, which is disposed in an annular chamber that is provided between a valve element and the injector housing. In addition to the sealing element, a support device is disposed in the annular chamber between the valve element and the injector housing.

Common rail injector

A high-pressure fuel system including a housing having first and second high-pressure bodies (), which contact one another at a contact face. A high-pressure chamber in the housing passes through the contact face, and at least intermittently a high fuel pressure is present in the chamber (). A wall part having a longitudinal axis surrounds the housing at least in the region of the contact face, so that a leak fuel chamber () is formed between the wall part and the housing which chamber is sealed off from the outside.

High-pressure fuel device

An injector for injecting fuel into the combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine includes an injector housing, in which a pressure chamber surrounds an insert part. The pressure chamber can be filled with fuel at high pressure via a high-pressure inlet. Via the pressure chamber, a control chamber defined by the insert part and a valve component is subjected to pressure. The valve component is movable inside the insert part, thus executing a stroke motion. A one-piece, metal sealing element is received by a nonpositive connection on the circumference of the insert part is subjected to the high pressure prevailing in the pressure chamber.

High-pressure sealing element to four injectors

The invention relates to a common rail injector for injecting fuel in a common rail injection system of an internal combustion engine, having an injector housing which communicates with a central high-pressure reservoir and in which a nozzle needle that cooperates with a valve piston which is guided in a valve piece is axially displaceable. To increase the service life of the injector, the end toward the nozzle needle of the valve piston or of a thrust rod triggered by the valve piston is guided coaxially to the axis of symmetry of the nozzle needle.

The invention relates to a radial piston pump for high-pressure fuel delivery in fuel injection systems of internal combustion engines, particularly in a common rail injection system. The pump includes a drive shaft that is supported in a pump housing and is embodied eccentrically or has a number of cam-like projections in the circumference direction. A number of pistons that are disposed radially with regard to the drive shaft are each disposed in a respective cylinder chamber and are set into a reciprocating motion in the radial direction in the cylinder chamber upon rotation of the drive shaft. Each respective cylinder chamber is sealed on the radial outside in relation to the drive shaft by a valve plate that has an intake side check valve and a high-pressure side check valve. In order to increase the efficiency of the pump, the intake side check valve has a tappet that passes through the valve plate and this tappet, on an end oriented toward the cylinder chamber has a valve disk that is placed in a sealed fashion against a sealing seat of the valve plate. On a side of the valve plate remote from the cylinder chamber, a device is provided, which pre-stresses the tappet in the closing direction.
