For fastening an equalizing tank of plastic material on a water tank made of plastic material, a three-point or multipoint mating connection is provided. The multipoint mating connection is joined together in the horizontal direction and includes a mating point situated in the region of an end wall of the equalizing tank and two or more mating points which are situated at a distance therefrom and from one another, preferably in the region of the bottom of the equalizing tank.

Arrangement of an equalizing tank on a water tank of a cooler

A coolant expansion tank, consists of a filling chamber for receiving the coolant and an expansion chamber connected via a connecting line and separated by a double-walled partition forming a monitorable testing space. The connecting line is led through and between the two walls of the double-walled partition. Openings to the exterior are provided in the testing space to dispurse any testing agent resulting from a leak in the partition or connecting line.

Cooling system balancing reservoir arrangement

A expansion tank for coolant consists of a filling chamber for receiving the coolant and an expansion chamber that is arranged under the filling chamber and is connected with it via a line between the upper area of the filling chamber and the lower area of the expansion chamber. An indentation portion of the filling chamber extends to the underside of the expansion tank and a suction outlet is connected to the indentation portion adjacent the underside of the expansion tank.

Cooling system balancing reservoir

An equalization tank for a cooling liquid which is subdivided by an essentially perpendicularly disposed interior partition wall into a prechamber and into a suction-discharge chamber; the vent lines which are connected with the cooling water outlet of the cooling water jacket of the engine and with the heat-exchanger thereby terminate in the prechamber whereas the auxiliary return line leading to the circulation pump for the cooling liquid terminates in the suction-discharge chamber; the partition wall is thereby also provided with a connection located near the tank bottom for cooling liquid, low in air or gas bubbles, as also with a vent connection between the prechamber and the suction-discharge chamber which is located near the tank ceiling.
