A capacitive rotation sensor for detecting the position of an object moving relative to a stationary object, comprising a shaft rotatably supported in a housing flange, said shaft being connected integral in rotation therewith to a rotor to which, separated by an air gap, a stator situated opposite thereto is assigned, wherein at least the rotor, the stator and an evaluation circuit are enclosed by an electrically conductive cap, wherein a stator surface is arranged on the underside of a circuit board and the stator surface has assigned thereto, situated opposite thereto and separated by the air gap, a non-rotation-symmetrical rotor disc which, in turn, is fixed on a rotor support, said rotor support being fastened highly precisely on the outer periphery of the shaft so as to be integral in rotation therewith.

Capacitive rotation sensor

An encoder in a motor system measures radial movement and translational movement of a disk with a single integrated sensor disposed on a microprocessor chip. The encoder measures position information and eccentric movement of the disk by the integrated sensor. The measured positional information and eccentric movement information are then combined generating single corrected positional information of the disk. The corrected single positional information may be provided to a user in standard format for operation of the motor system.

Encoder for a motor controller

An electric motor, gearbox, position phase angle sensor and motor phase angle sensor are integrated in a common housing to reduce the size of a positioning and actuating system. The housing also includes electronics for detecting and processing the signals from the phase angle sensors. The rotor shaft of the electric motor is designed to be hollow, and the drive shaft is mounted coaxially. The output shaft passing coaxially through the gearbox, and the end of the shaft which protrudes from the gear box is provided with a coupling. The drive shaft passes coaxially through the rotor of the electric motor and carries a position phase angle sensor at the end of the electric motor opposite the gear box. The motor phase angle sensor on the rotor shaft coaxially encloses the position phase angle sensor. The scanning detectors of both sensors are arranged on a common circuit board, which also carries the electronics for detecting and processing the signals of these sensors. Thus the phase angle sensors and electronics can be compactly mounted in the housing. A second circuit board, carrying the control and power electronics can be integrated parallel to the circuit board carrying the sensors. Both circuit boards are arranged perpendicular to the axis of the rotor and output shafts, the circuit boards add little to the overall dimensions of the housing.
