In a brake-force splitting gear for a manually actuated parking-brake system in a motor vehicle, brake force is transmitted via cable assemblies both to a wheel brake or shaft brake on the vehicle transmission and to wheel brakes of at least one driven vehicle axle. The wheel brakes of each vehicle axle being articulated in each case via a differential element mounted in a housing or frame. The splitting gear includes a lever mechanism comprising at least two balance beams or levers which split the brake force between the transmission brake and wheel brakes.

Brake-power proportioning mechanism for a manually actuated parking-brake system comprising a multi-piece lever mechanism

A vehicle frame which enables a lowering of the saddle coupling with improved stability for this, and recesses at the upper side of the lengthwise girders of the vehicle frame extending across the entire width of the frame are proposed. The saddle coupling is fastenably secured to the lengthwise girders.

A service brake for a vehicle, having two brake circuits which can be acted upon by pressurized fluid by way of a vacuum brake booster and a dual brake master cylinder, has at least one switchable device for changing the hydraulic pressure intensification by which, in the event of a failure of the brake booster, the pressure of the brake fluid is increased in each of the two brake circuits.

A braking force distribution linkage for a muscular energy-actuated parking brake system of a motor vehicle, in which the braking force is transferred at least via control cables both to one gear of the vehicle's transmission and to the wheels of at least one driven vehicle axle, the wheel brakes on each vehicle axle being respectively articulated via a compensation element. A linkage, lever and balance arm arrangement ensures a sufficient parking-hold effect on a road surface with differing nonskid properties, even in the event of failure of a portion of the braking system.

Braking force distribution linkage for a manually actuated parking brake

An arrangement for detecting a fatigue fracture caused by overstressing of a bolted connection including a bolt and an internal-thread-bearing hollow section which is alternately stressed by an axial flux of force between zero and different maximal values. A transverse crack forms at a predetermined breaking point of the bolted connection, at which the hollow section breaks due to fatigue. The spacing of the predetermined breaking point from the connection ends, and the interaction of the bolt and the hollow section, are designed such that, after the breakage, the bolt forms in the hollow section a residual joining connection which can be alternatingly stressed. In order to signal the occurrence of a crack on the hollow section of the bolted connection in the event of a fracture caused by fatigue in a simple and always noticeable manner, the arrangement has an additional signaling device. The signaling device is arranged at least on the section of the residual joining connection formed by the area with play of the bolted connection such that the crack causes its destruction, whereby the device causes at least one signal which can be noticed visually or acoustically. The signaling device may be microcapsules containing dye arranged in the threads, a hollow space adjacent the bolt filled with pressurized gas, or a ripping wire attached to the hollow section.

Arrangement and method for detecting a fatigue fracture of a bolted

In an arrangement for mounting a fuel tank to the undercarriage of a motor vehicle by way of a support bracket and a tension strap extending around the fuel tank, the support bracket includes means engaging one end of the tension strap while the other end of the tension strap forms a loop portion with a bore and a connecting member having one end with a threaded shaft extends through the bore and through a transverse connecting member for engagement with the loop and the other end of the shaft has a hook-like head hooked into an eyelet in the bracket. A nut is threaded onto the threaded end of the shaft for tightening the tension strap and holding the fuel tank in firm engagement with the bracket.

Arrangement for mounting fuel tank to a motor vehicle

A connector assembly that is subjected to alternating loads by an axial flow of force between zero and various maximum values, with an outer assembly component designed as a hollow section and an inner assembly component located in the outer one and fitting by virtue of its shape. In order to detect failure of the assembly caused by a fatigue fracture produced by overloads at the end point in the assembly direction, even before it develops, in a simple fashion within the functional assembly, the assembly comprises a rear area with play that begins at the end of the connection that points in the assembly direction and a forward zero-play area of the inner assembly component that abuts the latter and is located inside the outer assembly component. The transition between the areas forms a desired breakage location between the two ends of the connection, at which point one of the assembly components, upon the formation of a locally defined crack that runs in the transverse direction of the assembly, breaks as a result of fatigue after a certain number of overloads. The distance of the required breakage location from the ends of the connection is so dimensioned and the cooperation of the assembly components is so designed that the inner assembly component within the outer assembly component forms a residual assembly that can withstand alternating loads after fracture.
