A method for operating a radar apparatus having transmitting antennas and at least one receiving antenna, including: generating transmission spectra by complex modulation of mutually equidistant orthogonal OFDM subcarriers; transforming the transmitted spectra into the time domain; digital/analog conversion, high-frequency modulation of the transmitted spectra, and simultaneous emission of the modulated transmitted spectra via the transmitting antennas; demodulating and digitizing a received signal; generating one received spectrum per transmitted spectrum, a division of the OFDM subcarriers corresponding to their division in the transmitted spectra being carried out; eliminating the transmitted signal forms of the transmitted spectra from the received spectra; generating one radar image per received spectrum; evaluating the radar images in a distance dimension and in a speed dimension; and carrying out a signal evaluation for the received signal.

Highly fault-tolerant method for evaluating phase signals

For operational control of a start-up of a rate-of-turn sensor including at least one oscillator element that is excitable to perform a mechanical oscillating motion, a signal proportional to the instantaneous speed or deflection of the oscillator element is amplified and used as the operating signal to operate the oscillator element, during the start-up process for the rate-of-turn sensor, the amplitude of the operating signal is set to a constant specifiable value, the stimulation frequency of the operating signal is increased essentially continuously from a starting value below the main driving frequency of the oscillating motion to a final value above the main driving frequency and below a spurious driving frequency while, simultaneously, the deflection and/or the speed of the oscillator element are monitored in order to determine the main driving frequency of the oscillating motion, once the final value is reached and the main driving frequency is determined, the stimulation frequency of the operating signal is set to the main driving frequency, and the operational regulation of the amplitude and the stimulation frequency of the operating signal are released.

For driving and simultaneously evaluating a deflection and/or a rate of motion of an electrostatically excited oscillator element, excitation currents flowing during electrostatic excitation are determined, and deflection and/or the rate of motion of the oscillator element are determined based on the determined excitation currents.

In a method and a system for correcting an angle-measuring and/or distance-measuring sensor system, sinusoidal and cosinusoidal measurement signals (x, y) obtained by scanning a moved object of a measurement are evaluated. In order to correct the angle errors and/or phase errors of the measurement signal (x, y) a compensation process and a subsequent correction process are provided. A method for triggering a heterodyne interferometer having two acousto-optical modulators in separate light paths, a receiver generating an analog signal and a downstream A/D converter converting the analog signal into a digital signal is described. The one acousto-optical modulator is triggered at a modulation frequency fand the other acousto-optical modulator is triggered at another modulation frequency f, the difference between modulation frequencies fand fforming a heterodyne frequency fand the analog signal being converted into the digital signal in the A/D converter at sampling frequency f. In such a heterodyne interferometer, a fixed ratio of modulation frequencies is maintained, and they are prevented from shifting due to aging and drift by forming at least two of the frequencies of modulation frequencies f, fand sampling frequency ffrom a fundamental frequency fof a common oscillator. As a result, it is also possible for sampling frequency fto be in a fixed phase ratio to the differential frequency of modulation frequencies f, f, of heterodyne frequency f. Measurement accuracy is increased because sampling is performed at a constant phase, independently of drift and aging.

The invention proposes a method for determining a rotation angle or distance by evaluating a multitude of phase measurement values. By means of a linear transformation A, the phase values measured in an N-dimensional space are projected into N-1 new signals S . These signals S are transformed by a quantizing device into corresponding integer values W and converted into N real values Z by means of a linear projection C. These values have weighted phase measurement values &agr; added to them in modulo 2&pgr; fashion, which yields N estimates for the angle &phgr; to be measured. The N estimates are corrected if needed at their skip points and are added up in a weighted fashion, taking into account their phase angle.
