The first PCB is located between the power source and the first integrated device. The second PCB is located between the power source and the second integrated device.

Hearable device comprising integrated device and wireless functionality

A device that includes a board, a first integrated device coupled to the board, a speaker coupled to the first integrated device, a microphone coupled to the first integrated device and a power source configured to provide power to the first integrated device, the speaker and the microphone. The device has a length of about 2.4 centimeter (cm) or less, and a diameter of about 1.2 centimeter (cm) or less. The first integrated device includes a processor. The device further includes a second integrated device configured to provide wireless communication capabilities. The device further includes a wireless charging circuit to enable wireless charging of the power source.

A patch antenna includes a radiating element positioned on one side of a printed circuit board and an electromagnetic shield positioned on the opposite side of the printed circuit board. The electromagnetic shield forms at least a portion of a counterpoise and is connected to the ground of the PCB in at least one location. Design flexibility in positioning the antenna within a portable communication device is maximized while the size of the portable communication device is minimized.

A portable wireless handset with enhanced acoustic functions is disclosed having a chamber gasket that has an opening sized to receive a speaker. When inserted into the opening, the speaker seals to the chamber gasket. The chamber gasket also seals to a support surface, so that a sealed acoustic chamber is created. The keypad has an opening in the user interface area for receiving a speaker, and a navigation input key may be positioned over the speaker. In this way, the speaker shares an area with the navigation key, and projects sounds through vents in the navigation key. With the speaker sealed to the keypad, and the keypad sealed to a printed circuit board, a sealed acoustic chamber is formed. Acoustic energy emitted from the back of the speaker is received into the sealed chamber, thereby improving the sound quality for sound projected from the front of the speaker.

A wireless communication system, a wireless handset, and a method for remotely changing a ring tone on the wireless handset are described. The wireless communication system comprises antennas, a network system and a set of programming instructions. The network system processes a request to change the first ring tone to a second ring tone. The request is made from the remote electronic device that is accessed by a validated user. The set of programming instructions are communicated from the network system to the wireless handset via the antennas. The wireless handset with the first ring tone comprises a handset memory, a handset antenna, a processor, and a handset speaker is also described. The processor is configured to process the set of programming instructions communicated by the validated user that changes the first ring tone to the second ring tone. The method comprises permitting the validated user to access a menu having a user selectable option that permits changing the first ring tone to the second ring tone.

System and method for changing a ring tone

A stack-up configuration for a wireless communication device includes a display and keypad on a front face of a housing for the device. A battery for providing power to the components of the wireless communication device is stacked behind the display. A circuit board that holds processing and RF circuitry for the wireless communication device is stacked behind the battery, with a top surface of the circuit board adjacent the battery. Noisy circuitry on the circuit board is covered by shielding on a back surface of the circuit board. An external or internal antenna is connected to the circuit board at a feed point. The antenna in one embodiment of the invention is stacked behind the circuit board, that is, between a back face of the housing and the back surface of the circuit board. The location of the battery between the display and the circuit board lowers the amount of energy radiating from the wireless communications device in the concerned near field range.
