Bathroom accessory fixture

A pulsating shower head that employs a rotor for effecting the discharge of a variable pulsating spray, a variable continuous spray, or a combination of both comprising an upper body housing, a rotatable lower body housing, a stationary stem housing affixed to the upper body housing, an O-ring retainer affixed to the stem housing, and a stem--rotor housing assembly that moves axially when the lower body housing is rotated. An O-ring affixed to the stem acts in conjunction with the O-ring retainer to open and close a water channel leading to a pulse chamber. At the same time, O-rings affixed to the stem housing act in conjunction with the rotor housing to open and close a water channel leading to a continuous spray chamber. Rotation of the lower body housing results in either a continuous spray, pulse spray, or combination continuous and pulse spray. The shower head may be incorporated into either a wall mounted unit or a hand held unit.

Variable spray or variable pulse shower head

A pulsating shower head that employs a rotor for effecting the discharge of a pulsating spray, a continuous spray, or a combination of both comprising an upper body housing, a lower body housing, a stem housing affixed to the lower body housing, a stem affixed to the upper body housing and held in slidable relation to the stem housing, a spray plate affixed to the stem housing, a nozzle plate held in fixed relation to the spray plate and stem housing, and a rotor. Rotation of the lower body housing and stem housing with respect to the stationary stem causes the selective discharge of either a pulsed spray through a first set of jet-discharge apertures, a continuous spray through a second set of jet-discharge apertures, or a combination of both pulse spray and jet spray. The stem comprises a tangentially outwardly facing groove that provides a sliding watertight seal between the stem and the stem housing and acts to close off pulse or spray apertures in the stem housing as desired. The shower head may be incorporated into either a wall mounted unit or a hand held unit.

A combined shower splash guard member with a shower curtain holder is provided by a molded, generally triangularly-shaped, and modified, one piece body having two straight legs that intersect at a vertex of the triangle, and a third, web-like leg that extends between the free ends of said first two legs of the splash guard. Means for holding the one piece body to a mounting for the body is provided by an adhesive strip of a length to be secured to the entire outer surface of the two straight legs of the splash guard. To accommodate the departure from the desired perpendicularity of the legs of the splash guard, a gusset means is provided in the web of the splash guard which permits the web of the one-piece body to be varied from its normally intended size and shape. A shower curtain holding structure is provided in the molded web of the shower splash guard, by providing an aperture means that is formed through said web, and providing a selectively, manually movable, cantilevered, curtain-tensioning member to be located within said through-aperture formed in the web of the shower splash guard, so that manual movement of the tensioning member to a curtain-tensioning position may be used to effect friction holding of the shower curtain by said curtain-tensioning member and by the aperture means defined in the web of the shower splash guard member.

An improved fixture mounting is provided for a cantilevered fixture having a relatively broad base, or rear portion, adapted to be affixed to a support wall or other support surface. The mounting base portion of the fixture is provided with a cavity that is concealed and surrounded by a rearwardly extending wall provided as part of the base of the fixture. Located in the cavity is a first connecting plate having a pair of oppositely positioned flanges that are rearwardly projected, with the first connecting plate and flanges being secured to the fixture that is located forwardly of a support wall that carries thereon a second plate with forwardly projected flanges for support cooperation with the flanges on the first plate, and so that both plates are positioned wholly within the cavity. An adjustable set screw carried on one of the fixture's connecting plate's flanges is arranged and constructed to exert pressure on one of the wall's connecting plate flanges to secure a pressure fit between the connecting plates, and effecting a rigid mounting between the fixture and its associated support wall.
