Headlights for a carpet extractor

A carpet extractor is disclosed having scrub brushes located behind a transparent suction nozzle, whereby the brushes are visible through the nozzle. A main frame of the extractor is formed with transparent portions adjacent to the ends of the brushes, so that he brushes are also visible from the sides of the extractor. Headlights are provided on either side of the suction nozzle for illuminating the floor adjacent to the suction nozzle. The headlights are formed so that a portion of the light emitted by the headlights passes through a transparent portion of the main frame adjacent to the brushes and illuminates the brushes for improved viewing of he brushes. The headlights are also formed so that a portion of the light emitted by the headlights passes through the edge walls of the suction nozzle and illuminates the soiled cleaning liquid traveling through the nozzle.

A novel upright, hot water carpet cleaning extractor is disclosed. The overall configuration and operation of the extractor is similar to that of a typical upright vacuum cleaner and may be similarly operated in both the forward and reverse direction. The herein taught extractor comprises a base frame including the floor suction nozzle, suction fan, cleaning solution distributor, and a removable combination air/liquid separator and recovery tank. A manipulative push-pull handle is pivotly attached to the base frame having a removable cleaning solution supply tank supported thereon. The herein taught upright extractor is easily stored, self contained, easy to operate and requiring minimal effort by the operator.

The herein disclosed invention relates to an improved liquid supply tank which may be releasibly attached to an ambulatory machine such as an upright domestic carpet cleaning extractor. A unique combination carrying handle and securement latch is taught which pivotly attaches to the tank for carrying when the tank is removed from the machine. The handle includes latching means that serves to secure the tank to the machine when the tank is attached thereto.
