An apparatus, system, and method is provided to connect precast concrete panels to a structural member. The connector can have a receiving member embedded in a precast concrete panel and can further have an attachment member that selectively interconnects to the receiving member. This attachment member can have a surface that is oriented substantially perpendicular to the precast concrete panel and that receives or supports a structural member such as a floor joist or a second precast concrete panel. The configuration of a protrusion of the attachment member allows for a rapid and secure interconnection with an aperture in the receiving member. A builder can use the connector system described herein to rapidly and securely assemble multiple precast concrete panels to structural members in the construction of, for example, a parking garage or other similar structure.

A weldment support for holding a weldment plate in a precast concrete form is provided. The weldment support holds the weldment plate at a predetermined position so that the weldment plate is exposed on one side of the finished precast concrete panel. Weldment plates have one or more studs extending into the form to anchor the plate in the precast concrete panel. The weldment support has multiple adjustment features to secure the weldment support to different sizes of studs and to set the weldment plate at different positions within the form. In some embodiments, one adjustment feature is a plurality of deflectable fingers that engage the stud of the weldment plate, and another adjustment feature is a plurality of segments that can be broken off of the support to set the position of the weldment plate in the form.

Ties and related methods for making insulating composite wall structures including first and second structural layers comprising a hardenable material and an insulating layer having a high thermal resistance disposed between the structural layers. The insulating layer is formed from a plurality of insulating sheets, where the sheets are sandwiched between the structural layers of the wall. During wall construction, the tie is configured to be advanced into the first structural layer before it has hardened, with the tie fitting between adjacent sheets of insulation. No pre-drilling of holes through the sheets, or screwing or pressing of the ties through the actual sheets is required. Each tie includes generally planar features to accommodate such placement, with a penetrating segment, an impact segment, and a mesial segment therebetween. At least the penetrating and mesial segments are generally planar in shape, as they are advanced into such a gap between insulation sheets.

A connector includes a receiver member having a hollow rectangular tube to be cast with a structure. An attachment member has a post extending with a pin extending radially through the post at a distal end. The pin is shorter than the longer rectangular dimension and longer than the shorter rectangular dimension. When the attachment member is positioned adjacent the receiver member and oriented with a longitudinal axis of the pin parallel to the longer rectangular dimension, the post can be inserted into the hollow tube and rotated to a position where the pin abuts a distal end of the hollow tube to lock the attachment member to the receiver member.

A recess insert for a lift anchor assembly in a precast Portland cement concrete shape. The lift anchor assembly has a bilaterally symmetrical lift anchor comprising a lifting end, and an anchor leg end. The lifting end comprises an opening therethrough. The recess insert comprises a semicircular shaped shell that defines an opening, a top cap shaped to cover the opening, at least one anchoring clip on the top cap, adapted to engage the opening of a lift anchor when the recess insert is cast with a lift anchor assembly in a precast Portland cement concrete shape for securing the top cap to the semicircular shaped shell. The top cap also has a disengagement plane or one or more apertures providing access to the at least one anchoring clip for disengaging the top cap from the lift anchor.

A lifting and leveling assembly is configured to be embedded in a precast concrete slab for enabling a precast concrete slab to be lifted and leveled. The lifting and leveling assembly includes a threaded sleeve having a first end and a second end, a plurality of legs fixedly attached to and extending from the threaded sleeve, an end cap selectively covering the first end of the threaded sleeve, and a plate cover comprising an annular collar for releasably connecting the second end of the threaded sleeve to the plate cover.

A lifting and leveling assembly configured to be embedded in a precast concrete slab for lifting a leveling a precast concrete slab includes a base plate, a threaded sleeve, an anchor plate, a thread protecting sleeve, a threaded lifting bolt and an end cap. Rotating the threaded lifting bolt in a first direction positions a bolt head on the threaded lifting bolt above a top surface of a precast concrete slab to accommodate the attachment of a lifting device. Rotating the threaded lifting bolt in a second direction positions the bolt head beneath the top surface of the concrete slab and causes the threaded shaft to exert a force on the base plate to level the precast concrete slab.

An apparatus for mounting construction or masonry materials to a concrete cast including an anchor. The anchor includes angled walls at the base and sidewalls terminating at an angled flange. The flange defines a gap for inserting one or more fasteners for mounting the concrete cast to another structural element with the fastener. The angled walls and flanges provide for increased load capabilities for the anchor as well as reduced bending, cracking, and shearing.

A clip for securing a prestressed cable along a dovetail slot within a cement cast for masonry work. The clip contains a cup receiving the prestressed cable and legs for a fixed attachment to the outside of a dovetail bar. A method of installing the clip includes inserting the clip between the dovetail slot and the prestressed cable and rotating the clip such that the prestressed cable is received within the cup and the legs capture the dovetail slot.

A strand chair for supporting a prestressing cable in a cement cast. The strand chair contains a lower cup for receipt of a lower prestressing cable as well as an upper cup for supporting an upper prestressing cable. The strand chair utilized the pressures of the stressed cables to support and position a reveal which runs along the casting bed. Furthermore, the strand chair supports the placement of rebar utilized in the cement casting.

Precast Portland cement concrete shapes are handled by a lifting assembly comprising an elongate plate-like metallic lift anchor and a standard shear bar. The lift anchor defines a pair of parallel opposed planar faces, a medial longitudinal axis, and a plane of symmetry parallel to the planar faces. A lift head portion comprises a lift head through opening and shear flanges symmetrically disposed along the medial longitudinal axis. A proximal embedment portion comprises a shear bar through opening and a reinforcing bar through opening. A distal embedment portion terminates in a foot comprising a pair of distal flanges symmetrically disposed along the medial longitudinal axis, and a throat. The lift anchor is forged. The shear bar through opening is oblong along the medial longitudinal axis, and the standard shear bar is interconnectable with the shear bar through opening.
