A covered retracted confectionery including a housing with covers hinged adjacent the top for movement between closed and open positions. The lower part of each of the covers being contacted by a part of a shaft moveable in the housing between a retracted position and an extended position with respect to the housing to keep the covers closed against the force of gravity. A confectionery carried adjacent the top of the shaft is enclosed by the covers until they are manually moved to the open position by operation of an actuator slideably mounted on the exterior of the housing against a bias. Upon release of the actuator, the bias will automatically retract the shaft and confectionery as well as close the covers.

A manually operable device for holding and rotating candy, such as a sucker, that requires only one hand to hold and operate. The device has a handle portion that may be held with one hand of the user. A trigger is carried by the handle for manipulation against the bias of a spring or the like using the same hand of the user as is holding the handle. Actuation of the trigger moves a rack which in turn both rotates and linearly moves a set of gears to rotate a shaft that extends out of the handle. Attached to the end of the shaft extending out of the handle is a sucker or lollipop that is rotated as a result of actuation of the trigger. The sucker may be carried on a dish which is attached to the shaft, outside of the handle portion, for rotation with the shaft.

Device for holding and rotating candy

A portable gumball dispenser has a reservoir mounted atop a pedestal formed of a nested assembly of concentric tubular members and a base. When offset apertures in top walls of the tubular members are in register with each other and with an opening in the bottom of the reservoir to permit a single gumball to drop into a dispensing chamber within the pedestal, apertures in the side walls are out of register to retain the gumball. Rotation of the tubular members to register the side wall apertures rotates the top wall apertures out of register to block any further gumballs dropping from the reservoir. A directional channel in the base facilitates a gumball rolling out when the side wall apertures in register. A cooperating annular ridge on the outside of the inner tubular member and an annular groove on the outer tubular member retain the tubular members in nested assembly. Extending upwardly from the inner tubular member is a bead which cooperates with an arcuate groove in the outer tubular member to provide respective rotational stops for the register of the top wall apertures and the side wall apertures.

Portable dispenser for generally spherical confectioneries

A portable dispenser for spherical confectioneries such as gumballs has a clear tubular reservoir that is movable with respect to a base. Within a substantially hollow interior of the base, a pivoting ramp is mounted to receive a single gumball and convey it to an opening in the base while blocking other gumballs from dropping out of the tubular reservoir. Mounted for pivotal movement adjacent a free end of the ramp is a door for closing the opening in the base as the ramp itself pivots to convey the gumball toward the opening. Adjacent the bottom of the tubular reservoir are a pair of actuators that lock the tubular reservoir to the base for limited movement relative to the base. The actuators engage the ramp upon the tubular reservoir being moved toward the base. An integrally formed spring on the bottom of the ramp biases the ramp and biases the tubular reservoir away from the base. Adjacent the top of the tubular reservoir is a pivotally mounted head for capping the tubular reservoir. The head may conveniently be styled as a licensed character and indications are provided to facilitate proper rotational alignment with the other components.

An apparatus for insertion into and expansion of a soft bag or backpack, having a relatively flat foldable member, which is connected to a resilient member or an actuating means. The flat member is folded along at least one transverse axis into at least two sections. The resilient member is connected to the opposed ends of the flat member and urges the ends of the flat member inward from its flat position to a folded position. In the folded position, the flat member forms a gable and pushes the sides of the bag outward to expand the bag. In another form, a cord is used to pull the apparatus into its bag expanding position. Relatively flat inserts may be added to promote uniform expansion of the bag.

Bag having expanding means therein

An expander for insertion into and expansion of a soft bag comprising a device which is folded or collapsed to a flat state or spread apart to an expanded state. The soft bag is collapsed to a compact form in the flat state for shipment. In the expanded position, the bag is expanded to give the appearance that it is filled. Some embodiments use a resilient member to automatically urge the device from a flat position to its expanded position when compressive forces are removed from the bag. Other forms use a cord for manually moving the expander device into its bag-expanding position. To provide for a greater extent of expansion in relation to the length of the device in the flat position, an expanding device having four sequentially arranged sections, each of which is articulatable with respect to each adjacent section is provided in some embodiments. Expansion of a cylindrical bag is facilitated by a generally rigid insert in certain embodiments that is articulatable to better conform to the curved shape to the side portions.

Soft bag and expander
