A system for coating a non-rotating pipe work piece including: valves, flow lines, and a mixing block for receiving a first and a second component material each delivered at a pressure, flow measurement devices to measure the flows of the components, a static mixer in fluid communication with the mixing block for receiving the combined components, a C-shaped plate member arranged around the work piece, a drive mechanism to oscillate a partial rotation of the C-shaped member about the work piece with the rate of oscillations controlled by a logic controller, at least two spray guns disposed on the C-shaped member to spray towards the outside surface of the work piece, a drive mechanism to traverse the at least two spray guns longitudinally with the rate of traverse controlled by a logic controller; and the logic controller(s) programmed to control based on a number of input and measured parameters.

Plural component coating application system with a compressed gas flushing system and spray tip flip mechanism

A system for purging a plural component coating application system including: a first pressure regulator for receiving an inert gas, providing the gas at a first pressure; a first valve; a first operator connected to the first valve capable of being controlled by a logic controller; a first check valve; a mixing manifold; a second pressure regulator for receiving an inert gas, providing the gas at a second pressure that is less than the first pressure; a second valve; a second operator connected to the second valve capable of being controlled by a logic controller; a second check valve; a static mixer in fluid communication with the mixing manifold; an outlet from the static mixer for receiving a connection to at least two spraying members; and where the second regulator is capable of providing the second pressure at a pressure that is less than one-fifth of the first pressure.

A pipeline treating apparatus ( ) is disclosed which is used to clean the exterior of a pipeline ( ) with high pressure air with entrained abrasive. The apparatus has an improved classifier and separator to separate the abrasive grit from lighter debris which includes a classifier and separator within a manifold duct ( ) which returns the grit to a collection pan ( ) for recovery and causes the lighter airborne dust to be removed through a return duct ( ). A series of pressure relief filters ( ) reduce the air pressure within a blast chamber ( ) and resist debris escaping from the blast chamber past the triple seals ( ). The blast nozzle assemblies ( ) are attached to the nozzle oscillating frames by snap fittings ( ) which avoids threaded connections which may become contaminated by the debris.

Air abrasive blast line travel machine

A pipeline treating apparatus (350) is disclosed which includes a main frame (352) and a pair of wings (354, 356) pivotally mounted to the main frame for surrounding a pipeline to be treated. Each wing mounts at least one bracket (390, 392) for oscillating motion about a portion of the exterior of the pipeline surface. Each bracket mounts at least one nozzle (382) for treating the outer surface of the pipeline. A single drive motor on each wing can drive a pair of brackets, each bracket being oscillated a different arcuate length than the other bracket, if desired. The number of nozzles mounted on each bracket can be varied to address a specific treatment problem.

High pressure water jet cleaner and coating applicator

A pipeline treating apparatus (600) is disclosed which has a pair of pivotally mounted housing sections (604,608) and a pair of separately pivotal nozzle frames (610, 612). A nozzle plate is mounted on each of the nozzle frames and carries a plurality of nozzles (622). A drive mechanism on the nozzle frames oscillates the nozzle plate a predetermined arcuate distance around the circumference of the pipeline so that the nozzles treat the entire outer surface of the pipeline. The housing sections and nozzle frames are separately pivotal from a removal position, to allow removal of an installation of the apparatus on the pipeline, to a operational position concentric about the pipeline for performing the treating operation.

Device for surface cleaning, surface preparation and coating applications

A plug (10) is disclosed which is clamped to the end of a first pipeline section (14) being worked on by a line travel device (12). The line travel device (12) can completely perform its operation on the first pipeline section and move on to the plug. The plug is then unclamped from the first pipeline section and the plug and line travel device are moved together to the second pipeline section (16) to be worked on. The plug is clamped to the second pipeline section (16) to be worked on and the line travel device moves off the plug onto the second pipeline section to perform its operation on the entire length of the section.

Apparatus for transferring line travel device from one pipeline section

An automated pipeline rehabilitation apparatus (10) is disclosed. The apparatus employs a centering assembly (24) with pivoting arms (26, 28) which can pivot between an operating position and an installation/removal position to allow the unit to be removed from a pipeline. Arcuate rings (38, 40) are mounted on the arms. Spray nozzles (44) are mounted on the arcuate rings for reciprocating arcuate motion along the rings to treat the pipeline. The nozzles (44) can be used to clean the pipeline and prepare the outer surface of the pipeline with high pressure water jets with entrained abrasives. The nozzles (44) can also be used to apply a coating, preferably a polyurethane coating to the pipeline. A nozzle assembly (200) can be used to mount a spray gun (204) on the apparatus. The nozzle assembly permits easy adjustment of the nozzle position in two different directions to insure a consistent spray pattern. The nozzle assembly also provides for reversal of the tip of the nozzle for cleaning.
