A method of fabricating and tuning a surface integrated waveguide (SIW) filter incudes covering upper and lower surfaces of a dielectric substrate with a metallic layer. The method includes drilling a plurality of vias on the dielectric substrate and covering the vias with the metallic layer, wherein a first group of vias forms one or more cavity resonators, a second group of vias defines coupling channels between the cavity resonators, a third group of vias defines an effective width and a fourth group of vias defines an effective length of the cavity resonators. The method includes varying a center frequency by increasing diameters of the second group of vias to decrease the width of the coupling channels and varying a roll-off by increasing diameters of the third and fourth groups of vias to decrease the effective width and the effective length of the resonators.

Selective crest factor reduction and digital pre-distortion of physical channels and physical signals in a wireless communication network are disclosed. A method for wireless communication includes allocating transmission bandwidths for physical channels and physical signals and determining if the total allocated transmission bandwidth for the physical channels and the physical signals is less than or equal to a first bandwidth threshold value. If the total allocated transmission bandwidth is less than or equal to the first bandwidth threshold value, the method includes digitally pre-distorting the physical channels and the physical signals and transmitting the digitally pre-distorted physical channels and physical signals. The method also includes applying digital crest factor reduction to the physical channels and the physical signals if the total allocated transmission bandwidth is less than or equal to a second bandwidth threshold value.

Selective crest factor reduction and digital pre-distortion of physical channels and physical signals

A method for wireless communication includes allocating a transmission bandwidth for transmission to a user equipment (UE). The method further includes determining if the allocated transmission bandwidth is less than or equal to a maximum estimated BW. The maximum estimated BWis the maximum estimated signal bandwidth that a transmitter is configured to digitally pre-distort. The method also includes digitally pre-distorting transmit signals and transmitting the digitally pre-distorted transmit signals to the UE if the allocated transmission bandwidth is less than or equal to the maximum estimated BW. The method also includes transmitting to the UE without digitally pre-distorting the signals if the allocated transmission bandwidth is not less than or equal to the maximum estimated BW. The method also includes applying digital crest factor reduction to the transmit signals if the allocated transmission bandwidth is less than or equal to the maximum estimated BW.

Methods and systems for selective crest factor reduction and digital pre-distortion in wireless transmitters

A method of wireless communication includes receiving a plurality of first downlink signals at a first radio base station, where the plurality of first downlink signals each has a different frequency. The method further includes down-converting the plurality of first downlink signals to a plurality of second downlink signals, where the plurality of second downlink signals have a same frequency. The method also includes transmitting the plurality of second downlink signals to associated user equipments (UEs).
