A method and/or system for initiating one of a plurality of cell transition activities for a UE supporting multicast and broadcast services (MBS). The technique may include identifying, by the UE, one or more candidate cells available for one of the plurality of cell transition activities for the UE. The technique may include identifying, by the UE, at least one candidate cell among the one or more candidate cells that support MBS. The technique may include initiating, by the UE, one of the plurality of cell transition activities for the UE using the at least one candidate cell.

Method and system for initiating cell transition activities during multicast and broadcast services

The disclosure relates to a 5G, 6G, or personal IoT network communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate. The method of PEMC comprises: transmitting a first message comprising information related to a personal internet of things network (PIN); receiving, from a first personal internet of things network element (PINE), a first joining request message comprising information on a supported service of the first PINE; determining whether to add the first PINE in the PIN based on the information on the supported service; and transmitting, to the first PINE, a first joining accept message comprising at least one identifier (ID) of at least one PINE in the PIN based on a determination that the first PINE is added in the PIN.

In an embodiment, a method for selecting a frequency combination for a User Equipment (UE), is disclosed. The method includes determining, by the UE, at least one of a bandwidth or multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) layer information associated with each of a plurality of cells upon detecting the plurality of cells present in a network. The method includes identifying, by the UE, at least one combination of cells amongst the plurality of cells providing a maximum throughput based on the determined bandwidth and the MIMO layer information associated with each of the plurality of cells. The method further includes latching, by the UE, onto the combination of cells with the maximum throughput.
