Battery enclosures and electronic devices having a battery enclosure are described herein. In one example, a battery enclosure includes a shell, a battery positioned within an internal volume of the shell, and a fire-retardant composition positioned on an outer surface of the shell, a first inner surface of the shell, between the first inner surface of the shell and the battery, or a combination thereof. In certain examples, the shell and/or fire-retardant composition are configured to provide a thermal seal or protection barrier between components (e.g., a battery) positioned within the battery enclosure and components of the electronic device positioned outside of the battery enclosure.

Battery enclosures in electronic devices

A computer device may include one or more electronic components located in a passive cooling zone. A wall divides the passive cooling zone from an active cooling zone and acoustically isolating the active cooling zone from the passive cooling zone. A heat sink attached to at least one of the one or more electronic may extend from the passive cooling zone to the active cooling zone through the wall. At least one noise emitting component may be located in the active zone. A method of controlling noise in the computer device may include determining, by a processor of the computer device located in the passive cooling zone, a noise frequency of a noise emitting component located within an active cooling zone of the computer device. The processor may control a speaker within the active cooling zone to emit anti-noise cancelling the noise frequency.

Isolated active cooling system for noise management

A thermal venting device is provided that includes a plenum including an inlet port and a plurality of outlet ports, the plenum being substantially fluidically sealed except for the inlet port and the plurality of outlet ports, the inlet port including an inlet fan configured to pressurize the plenum, each of the plurality of outlet ports being configured to direct airflow from the pressurized plenum toward different electronic components of a plurality of electronic components, and each of the plurality of outlet ports including respective resistive elements having varied airflow resistances configured to bias airflow through the plurality of outlet ports.
