A gob shield for a shield support and a method for producing such a gob shield. The gob shield having a cover plate, two cap connecting joints for connecting the gob shield to a roof cap, and side plate pairs having respectively two side plates with bolt receptacles for the fastening of links of a link mechanism to the gob shield. In order to simplify the production of the gob shield, each cap connecting joint is a component part of a separately producible elongate assembly, which, by a rear end, can be welded in place in the interspace between the side plates of a side plate pair before this master assembly comprising assembly and side plate pair is welded to the cover plate.

Gob shield for shield support and method for the production thereof

A shield support assembly for underground mining includes a shield canopy and at least one floor runner as supporting surface elements. The shield canopy and at least one runner are connected in an articulated manner and can be pressed against rock at least one hydraulic cylinder which is supported in bearing pans on the shield canopy and floor runner. Each surface supporting element includes a welded construction of welded-together components. In order to be able to support higher forces without increasing the overall weight, at least one of the supporting surface elements includes at least one hollow metal box profile filled with a solid as a component of the welded construction.

A shield cap for a shield-type support for underground mining includes a cap plate, with reception devices for the connection of hydraulic cylinder heads to the shield cap, and a supporting structure welded below the cap plate and having a plurality of longitudinal spars. At least two of the longitudinal spars include substantially I-profile struts having an upper profile chord, a lower profile chord and a middle chord running perpendicularly to the two profile chords. The distance between the upper and the lower profile chord decreases at least over a part length of each strut.

Shield cap for a shield-type mining support

The underground mining machine () according to the invention in known manner comprises a machine body () movable along a working face () and with at least one cutting and rolling unit () connected to the machine body by an extension arm () and drivable via a gear arrangement () mounted in the extension arm by a drive () disposed on the machine body. In order to make the drive system of the mining machine simpler, requiring less maintenance, and less subject to wear, according to the invention the gear arrangement comprises a compensating drive shaft () extending through the extension and coupled or adapted to be coupled by a first angular gear stage () to the drive on the machine body side and by a second angular gear stage () to the cutting and rolling unit on the cutting and rolling side.
