Display devices and methods forming the same. A digitizer sensor board is integrated on an upper substrate or a lower substrate of a display panel to provide a display device. In the display device, the display panel displays images, and the digitizer sensor board is integrated into the display panel to sense position of a position pointer or finger contact on a surface.

A transflective liquid crystal display and method of fabricating the same. The pixel region of the transflective comprises a thin film transistor, a transmissive electrode, and a reflective electrode, wherein the overlap of the reflective electrode and the transparent electrode composes a reflective region and the non-overlapping region of the reflective electrode and the transparent electrode form a transmissive region, and the transparent electrode and the source and the drain regions of the thin film transistor are formed of the same silicon layer.

Transflective liquid crystal display and method of fabricating the same

A flip-cover mobile phone with cover-on talking capability. The phone has a plurality of buttons on the front surface of the phone but can be hidden away by the cover. The surface of the phone further includes a loudspeaker, a microphone, a communication on/off button and a touch-sensitive screen. Incoming calls can be received simply by pressing the communication on/off button so that talking is possible with the cover on. With the addition of a touch-sensitive screen, the phone may be operated without lifting the flip cover.

The present invention provides a dual-screen liquid crystal display including three substrates. The first substrate has a first surface and a second surface. The first reflector layer, the first liquid crystal layer, the second substrate and the first polarization film are sequentially disposed on the first surface of the first substrate to form the first reflective LCD. The second reflector layer, the second liquid crystal layer, the third substrate and the second polarization film are sequentially disposed on the second surface of the first substrate to form the second reflective LCD.

Dual-screen liquid crystal display

This invention relates to a transflective LCD device using different common voltages in the transmissive and reflective regions to present the same gray scale performance on the transmissive and reflective regions. The liquid crystal display device includes a first substrate including a plurality of transmissive regions and a plurality of reflective regions; a transmissive electrode formed on said transmission electrode region; a reflective electrode formed on said reflective regions and connected electrically with said transmissive electrode; a second substrate including a plurality of first common electrodes and a plurality of second common electrodes, wherein said first common electrodes are formed over said transmissive regions, said second common electrodes are formed over said reflective regions, and said first common electrodes are not connected electrically with said second common electrodes; and a liquid crystal layer interposed between said first substrate and said second substrate.

Transflective LCD device

The present invention provides a method of forming a liquid crystal display (LCD). Active layers of N-type and P-type low temperature polysilicon thin film transistors and a bottom electrode of a storage capacitor are formed first. Then a N-type source/drain is formed and the bottom electrode is doped with dopants. A gate insulator, a gate electrode, a capacitor dielectric, and a top electrode are thereafter formed. After that, a P-type source/drain is formed. Finally, a source interconnect, a drain interconnect, and a pixel electrode of the liquid crystal display are formed.

Method of forming a liquid crystal display

A double-sided LCD panel is comprised of a transflective LCD panel and a light-emitting device. One surface of the transflective panel is used in the transparent mode, and the other surface is used in the reflective mode, achieving the goal of double-sided display. The light-emitting device may function as the front light source of the display surface in the reflective mode and the backlit source of the display surface in the transparent mode. In this manner, one can use a single panel for double screen display. This can simultaneously satisfy the requirements of light-weighted products and lowering the manufacturing cost.

Double-sided LCD panel

A tape automated bonding (TAB) process in which a tape-carrier through its finger leads is bonded to composite bumps on an IC chip wherein the composite bumps are constructed by a polymeric material layer and at least one metal layer. The polymeric material layer has a lower rigidity (or a lower Young's modules) than those of the metal layers. Structural damages during the bonding process that is frequently caused by a rigid metal bump is eliminated. The TAB bonding process can be carried out by using either an all-metal lead frame, a plated metal lead frame, or a polymer reinforced metal lead frame. The polymer/metal composite bumps constructed on the IC chip require a smaller bonding force when bonded in a thermal bonder.

Method for tape automated bonding to composite bumps

There is shown an apparatus for bonding outer leads of a display panel to metal leads of a bonding tape that includes a movable stage for supporting the display panel. A light source is provided on the stage that is positioned beneath the outer leads of the panel, when mounted on the stage. A means is provided to support the bonding tape so that the metal leads are held in overlapping position over the outer leads. A means to observe the resultant overlapped leads is located over the light source. A heat source for applying heat to the aligned leads to form bonds therebetween is provided.
