When an IC card module is used for a small portable information apparatus such as a portable telephone terminal, the module has a size much smaller than an ordinary IC card from the viewpoint that the apparatus is required to be small in size and weight. In the case of a small non-contact type card, there are problems that an antenna coil cannot secure its necessary surface area, a necessary power cannot be obtained for a signal to be transmitted or received, a communication distance from an external device becomes small. When the signal is transmitted and received via a booster coil provided between the external device and the antenna coil of the IC card module, the effective surface area of the antenna coil can be increased and the communication distance can be increased to a level as large as it can practically avoid involvement of any problem.

A liquid drop jet head includes a nozzle, a liquid room, a vibration board forming a wall surface of the liquid room, driving element, a support substrate to which an end part of the driving element is connected without connecting to the vibration board, and a gap between the support substrate and the vibration board at a position corresponding to a partition of the liquid room, wherein the vibration board includes a thin part and a thick part and the area of the thin part is divided by the thick part with which the driving element comes in contact.

Liquid drop jet head and ink jet recording apparatus

An ink-jet printing apparatus and method in which a head unit having at least one nozzle ejects ink drops on demand, a sheet transporting path disposed below the head unit transports a sheet through the head unit, and an ink deposit unit disposed below the sheet transporting path is arranged to directly receive ink drops ejected form the nozzle when a nozzle-clog-preventing/ink ejection operation is executed. A controller initiates and stops the nozzle-clog-preventing/ink ejection operation based on whether or not a sheet is detected by sheet detecting elements disposed adjacent to the head unit.

Method and apparatus for preventing nozzle clogging in ink jet printing apparatus

An ink jet printing apparatus includes an ink jet head having a plurality of nozzles for respectively ejecting ink drops, a plurality of ink chambers communicating with the nozzles, and a plurality of electromechanical conversion elements corresponding to the respective nozzles. The volume of the ink chamber of the non-drive channel is increased by the influence of the drive channel adjacent thereto, and thereby undesired ejection of the ink drop occurs. To solve this problem, a drive energy set for ejecting the ink drop is applied to the piezoelectric elements of the drive chambers n&minus;1, n&plus;1 and a reduced drive energy set for not ejecting the ink drops is applied to the piezoelectric element of the non-drive channel n.

Ink jet printing apparatus

An ink jet printing head includes: a plurality of piezoelectric actuators arranged in rows on a substrate, each row including first piezoelectric elements and second piezoelectric elements which are alternately arrayed along the row, the first piezoelectric elements being actuatable to apply a compressive force to ink in accordance with print signals, the second piezoelectric elements being fixed and not actuated; and an ink chamber unit which includes ink chambers located above the first piezoelectric elements and containing ink. The ink chamber unit includes: an oscillation plate including diaphragm portions which are connected to the first piezoelectric elements and independently deformable in a direction perpendicular to the substrate by the first piezoelectric elements when actuated; and a nozzle plate which includes nozzles being located above the diaphragm portions and opened to the ink chambers, so that ink drops are respectively forced out from the nozzles when the first piezoelectric elements are actuated.

Ink jet printing head

In order to detect a fault which would result in heating or fuming of a discharge tube lighting circuit and to break the lighting circuit, input voltage and current are measured and multiplied to compute the input power. The discharge tube 3 is extinguished when an input power reaches a predetermined value.

Discharge tube lighting apparatus

A power supply apparatus which stabilizes the output by feeding it back is provided which suppresses variations of the output for abrupt variations of the input. The power supply apparatus comprises output sensing means for sensing output current and output voltage, first output control means for controlling the output with the increment or decrement of the value obtained from said output sensing means, second output control means for controlling the output from an absolute value of the input voltage, and selection means for selecting either said first output control means or said second output control means. The power supply apparatus further comprises means for detecting the variation rate of the input voltage, first monitor means for monitoring the difference between the output value of said output sensing means and the reference value, and second monitor means for monitoring both the difference between the output value of said output sensing means and a reference value, and the input voltage variation rate.

Power supply apparatus

A phase shift circuit comprises a variable phase shifter responsive to an externally supplied voltage to change the amount of phase shift, and a phase detector operative to detect a phase difference between input and output signals of the variable phase shifter and supply a voltage complying with the phase difference to the variable phase shifter. When the center frequency of the variable phase shifter is changed by reason of production errors and temperature variations to deviate the phase shift amount from a desired value, the phase detector controls the center frequency such that the phase shift amount can be fixed to the desirably predetermined value.

Phase shift circuit for electrical signal

An amplifier suitable for use as an active filter such as a low-pass filter, a high-pass filter or a phase shifter, which can be easily formed as part of an integrated circuit. The amplifier includes first and second transistors, which together form a first differential amplifier for converting the voltage of the input signal thereto to a signal current. It also includes third and fourth transistors, which together form a second differential amplifier for dividing the signal current from the second transistor in a given ratio. A capacitor is connected to the collector of the fourth transistor, and first and second resistors are connected, respectively, to emitters of the first and second transistors. The current division ratio of the current flowing through the third and fourth transistors is controlled by a control voltage DC supplied to the base of the third transistor and the base of the fourth transistor. In the amplifier, the signal current shunted in the current division ratio K between the third and fourth transistors flow through the load capacitor so that the time constant of the active filter is controlled, the ratio K being controlled by the control voltage V.sub.c. The control voltage V.sub.c also compensates for the inaccuracy of the values of the resistors and capacitors.

Amplifier circuit suitable for use as an active filter circuit

An ink receptacle for an on-demand type ink jet printer in which an ink reservoir for storing ink which is to be ejected from an ink jet head is mounted on a carriage. A relatively thick flat housing which is made of non-flexible resin and open at one surface and a single flexible film are bonded together, the film covering the open side of the housing. The housing and the film cooperate to define a relatively large first ink chamber having an opening which is open to the outside and a relatively small second ink chamber also having an opening which is open to the outside. That part of the film which covers the first chamber is deformable to vary the volume of the first chamber corresponding to an amount of ink remaining in the chamber.

Ink receptacle for ink jet printer

An ink jet printing apparatus capable of removing bubbles introduced into ink which is routed from an ink supply cartridge to a plurality of nozzles. A head holder adapted to support a head, which has the nozzles, is formed with an ink supply path for delivering ink from the ink supply cartridge to the nozzles. The ink supply path branches into an upwardly extending passageway and a downwardly extending passageway. The ink is supplied to the nozzles by way of the downward passageway. A check valve is positioned in the upward passageway for trapping bubbles entrained by the ink. The bubbles trapped by the check valve are discharged by a suction pump.

A unique arrangement of a multi-nozzle head which is suitable for use with an ink on-demand type ink jet printer. A flat head base is formed with a plurality of nozzles and ink compressing chambers associated therewith by etching. The ink compressing chambers are divided into a plurality of groups which are positioned on imaginary lines, which are individually inclined a predetermined angle with respect to an intended direction of ink ejection.

Multi-nozzle head for ink on-demand type ink jet printer

A deflection yoke for use with a picture tube of a television receiver. A vertical deflection coil of the deflection coil has a larger winding angle on an electron gun side thereof than on a screen side thereof. A magnetic material piece is disposed inside the vertical deflection coil so that a vertical deflection magnetic field is formed into a strong barrel magnetic field on the electron gun side. As a result, a raster scanned on a faceplate of the picture tube is free from misconvergence and pincushion distortion. A core of the deflection yoke has sawtooth-shaped end surfaces, or auxiliary rings having sawtooth-shaped end surfaces are disposed on the end surfaces of the core. As a result, a wire of the vertical deflection coil is prevented from slipping on the end surfaces of the core although the wire of the vertical deflection coil is wound at a large winding angle on the electron gun side.

Self-converging deflection yoke

The present invention relates to a deflection yoke device which is preferably combined with an in-line type color picture tube having electron guns aligned horizontally. The distribution of magnetic fields is determined in the horizontal direction such that a sharp or strong barrel magnetic field is localized on the side of the neck portion whereas an extremely sharp pincushion magnetic field is localized on the side of the funnel portion and at the same time, an intensely sharp pincushion magnetic field is distributed between the funnel portion and the neck portion. The central electron beam is deflected more at a greater angle than side electron beams so as to land outside the side electron beams.
