A liquid ejection head includes a print element substrate having an ejection port surface in which a plurality of ejection ports are arranged and a temperature control unit that controls a temperature of the ejection port surface. The print element substrate ejects a liquid from the plurality of ejection ports onto a medium moved by the liquid ejection head relatively to the liquid ejection head. The ejection port surface includes a region on a downstream side of the ejection port surface in a direction in which the medium relatively moves when the medium is viewed from the liquid ejection head, and includes a region on an upstream side of the ejection port surface in the relative moving direction. The temperature control unit control the temperature of the ejection port surface so that a temperature of the downstream side region becomes higher than a temperature of the upstream side region.

Liquid ejection head and liquid ejection apparatus

A liquid discharge head includes: a substrate, where a recording element is disposed; and a discharge orifice forming member, where a discharge orifice, facing the recording element, and configured to discharge the liquid, is formed. The liquid discharge head has a pressure chamber, a first liquid channel configured to supply liquid to the pressure chamber, and a second liquid channel configured to recover liquid from the pressure chamber. The substrate has a liquid supply channel connected to the first liquid channel to supply liquid to the first liquid channel, and a liquid recovery channel connected to the second liquid channel, to recover liquid from the second liquid channel. Pressure at an inlet portion of the liquid supply channel is higher than pressure at an outlet portion of the liquid recovery channel, and a flow velocity of liquid within the pressure chamber is 3 to 140 mm/s.

Liquid discharge head and liquid discharge method

One embodiment of the present invention is a liquid ejection apparatus having: a liquid ejection head including a heating element, a first protection layer that blocks contact between the heating element and liquid, a second protection layer that partially covers the first protection layer and functions as a first electrode, a second electrode that is electrically connected to the first electrode through the liquid, and an ejection port that ejects the liquid; and a control unit configured to perform control of setting a potential difference between the first electrode and the second electrode to a predetermined value in each of aging and printing by changing at least one of potentials of the first electrode and the second electrode, wherein ΔVa≠ΔVp is satisfied in the case where the potential difference in the aging is represented by ΔVa and the potential difference in the printing is represented by ΔVp.

Liquid ejection apparatus and control method

A liquid discharge head includes a liquid discharge substrate that has a discharge-orifice row, pressure generating elements, and pressure chambers. The liquid discharge head discharges a liquid in a block-by-block manner using sequential driving. The discharge-orifice row is disposed so as to incline at an angle θ=Arctan (d1/d2) relative to a direction extending orthogonal to the conveyance direction of the medium, in which d1 (μm) is a disposition spacing of the discharge orifices in the discharge-orifice row in the conveyance direction and d2 (μm) is a disposition spacing of the discharge orifices in the discharge-orifice row in the direction orthogonal to the conveyance direction. A partition wall is formed between adjacent pressure chambers so as to separate the adjacent pressure chambers from each other. The partition wall has a communicating portion that communicates the adjacent pressure chambers with each other.

Liquid discharge head

A liquid ejection head that can suppress variation in the circulation flow rate or the pressure of the liquid among a plurality of pressure chambers and suppress a difference in temperature distribution between adjacent element substrates to suppress image unevenness includes a plurality of ejection modules including an element substrate in which a plurality of ejection orifices that eject a liquid are aligned in an array. In one ejection module of the ejection modules adjacent to each other, the liquid is supplied from one side of an ejection orifice array, and the liquid is collected from the other side of the ejection orifice array, and in the other ejection module of the ejection modules adjacent to each other, the liquid is supplied from the other side, and the liquid is collected from the one side.

In a liquid ejection head in which ejection modules are arrayed on a flow path forming member, each ejection module includes a recording element substrate provided on a support member. The recording element substrate includes a liquid supply channel, a liquid collection channel, and ejection ports. The support member includes supply-side liquid communication ports communicating with the liquid supply channel and collection-side liquid communication ports communicating with the liquid collection channel. The supply-side liquid communication ports and the collection-side liquid communication ports are alternately provided along the direction in which the ejection modules are arrayed. The closest pair of liquid communication ports in the adjacent ends of two adjacent ejection modules are both supply-side or collection-side liquid communication ports.

A liquid injection head improving electric reliability includes: a substrate including: energy generating elements configured to apply energy for ejection to a liquid, and a substrate upper surface on which terminals respectively connected to electric wirings are provided, an ejection port forming member having: an ejection port forming surface in which the ejection ports for ejecting a liquid are formed, and a back surface on a side opposite to the ejection port forming surface, which is arranged so as to opposite to the substrate upper surface, and a sealant configured to cover connecting portions between the electric wirings and the terminals.

Liquid ejection head and method of manufacturing the same

A liquid ejection head including recording element substrates each including ejection opening rows in which ejection openings ejecting liquid are arranged, the plurality of ejection opening rows being juxtaposed in a relative movement direction with respect to the printed medium. In the relative movement direction of the printed medium when the printed medium is viewed from the liquid ejection head, and in the plurality of ejection opening rows provided in the recording element substrate, among the plurality of recording element substrates, positioned on an upstream side in the relative movement direction, arrangement intervals of ejection openings in an end area of an ejection opening row positioned on a most upstream side in the relative movement direction are smaller than arrangement intervals of ejection openings in an end area of an ejection opening row positioned on a most downstream side in the relative movement direction.

A liquid ejection head including first and second recording element substrates adjacent in a direction intersecting a relative movement direction include ejection opening rows that include ejection openings arranged in the intersecting direction. A liquid discharge head includes a recording element configured to generate thermal energy and a discharge orifice disposed at a position facing the recording element. A bubble is generated in liquid by the thermal energy, liquid between the bubble and the discharge orifice is discharged from the discharge orifice by the pressure of the generated bubble, and the bubble communicates with the atmosphere on the outside of the discharge orifice.

A liquid ejection head has a plurality of ejection modules having a recording element substrate equipped with a plurality of ejection orifices for ejecting a liquid, a plurality of first flow path members that supports at least one of the ejection modules and a second flow path member provided in common with the first flow path members and supporting the first flow path members. The first flow path members and the second flow path member are equipped with a flow path for supplying a plurality of recording element substrates with a liquid. A print element substrate and a liquid ejection head capable of suppressing degradation of a print quality caused by a white stripe/black stripe etc., is actualized without using a high degree of microfabrication technology. As a result of asymmetric deformation by swelling in a direction of relative movement to a print medium, print elements having different liquid droplet ejection directions are made to coexist and arrayed for that purpose.
