Disclosed are protective coating compositions having enhanced gloss retention properties formed by steps comprising: (i) providing one or more fluorocopolymers by copolymerization of (1) one or more hydrofluoroolefin monomer(s) selected from the group consisting of hydrofluoroethylenes, hydrofluoropropenes, hydrofluorobutenes, hydrofluoropentenes and combinations of these, (2) one or more vinyl ester monomer(s), and (3) one or more vinyl ether monomer(s), wherein at least a portion of said vinyl ether monomer is a hydroxyl group-containing vinyl ether monomer, wherein the copolymer preferably has a number average molecular weight of greater than about 10,000; (ii) providing a VOC containing carrier for said one or more fluorocopolymers; and (iii) providing a stabilizing agent comprising: a) a radical scavenger and b) an absorber of UV light; and (iv) combining said one or more fluorocopolymers with said carrier and said stabilizing agent to produce a polymeric coating composition.

Gloss retentive fluorocopolymers for coating applications

Methods of producing a polyamide filaments and fibers are provided. The methods include providing a dual-terminated polyamide and spinning the dual-terminated polyamide at a speed of 3500 m/min to 8000 m/min to form a fiber. In one embodiment, the polyamide has an amine endgroup concentration of 25 mmol/kg to 40 mmol/kg and a carboxyl endgroup concentration of 18 mmol/kg to 50 mmol/kg. Fibers and yarns comprising polyamide filaments and fibers formed from the method are also disclosed.

The present disclosure provides a composition comprising or obtained from a reaction mixture comprising a first propylene-based polymer, an olefin block copolymer, and a cure component. A polyamide composition is formed from a low viscosity polyamide-6 and a nucleating agent. The nucleating agent includes an organic material, a first inorganic material and a second inorganic material. Suitable organic materials include organic polymers. Suitable inorganic metallic materials include metal oxides and silicates. The polyamide composition may include polyamide-66 materials and carbon black.

Polyamide composition for low temperature applications

Articles having a Shore A hardness of 50 to 95 and made from polyolefin compositions comprising an ethylene-alpha-olefin interpolymer (random or block or a mixture of the two) are paintable without the need for a primer or other surface treatment with paints free of phthalate-based plasticizer and designed to paint SBS- or SEBS-type rubber based compositions. These polyolefin compositions are free of (1) phthalate-based plasticizer, (2) halogen-containing polymer, and (3) leachable, small polymeric units derived from styrene monomer. In addition, the content of the alpha-olefin in the polyolefin composition is at least 9.7 mole percent.
