Disclosed is a transmission power control method for controlling a target SIR which is a target ratio of signal to interference upon comparing error rate and target error rate of receive data on a receiving side, and causing transmission power control to be performed on a transmitting side in such a manner that measured SIR will agree with the target SIR. The method includes previously measuring and storing a correspondence characteristic between error rate and SIR; finding, from the correspondence characteristic, a first SIR with respect to a target error rate and a second SIR with respect to a measured error rate; and updating the target SIR by increasing or decreasing the target SIR by the difference between the first SIR and the second SIR.

Transmission power control method and apparatus

Disclosed is a transmission power control method in a wireless communication system in which power allocated to a pilot signal can be varied to at least a first power and a second power. The method includes the steps of measuring reception quality using power of a receive pilot signal and power of an interference signal thereof when reception quality is measured with regard to whichever of the larger of the first power and second power is allocated; measuring reception quality using the power of the receive pilot signal and overall reception power when reception quality is measured with regard to whichever of the smaller of the first power and second power is allocated; and sending a transmission power control signal to a transmitting side in such a manner that the measured reception quality will agree with a target reception quality.

When it is detected that a CRC check is acceptable in Blind Transport Format Detection (BTFD) processing, the BTFD processing is halted from this moment onward, the number of bits of voice code of each class is decided based upon the bit rate of each class in a bit-rate combination that prevails when the CRC check is acceptable, the voice code of each class is demultiplexed from receive data based upon the number of bits and the demultiplexed voice code is input to a voice codec.
