A bulky, water-disintegratable cleaning article is formed of water-disintegratable paper impregnated with 100% to 500% by weight of an aqueous agent. The water-disintegratable paper is a substantially water dispersible fibrous sheet containing a water soluble or swellable binder. The water-disintegratable paper has a great number of protrusions and depressions formed by embossing and has a basis weight of 30 to 150 g/m. The bulky, water-disintegratable cleaning article has a thickness Tof 1.0 to 3.0 mm under a load of 0.3 kPa and a thickness Tof at least 0.9 mm under a load of 1.0 kPa.

Bulky water-disintegratable cleaning article and process for producing water-disintegratable paper

A wet cleaning sheet comprises an aqueous liquid-retaining layer having an aqueous liquid-containing polymer and a chemical-containing layer or containing a chemical which causes the polymer to release the aqueous liquid. The aqueous liquid-retaining layer and the chemical-containing layer or are formed and/or arranged in such a manner that they are kept out of substantial contact under no load applied but brought into contact with each other with a prescribed load applied whereby the aqueous liquid is gradually released from the polymer by the action of the chemical.

Process for producing bulky paper

A water-disintegrable cleaning sheet comprising a web of water-dispersible fibers having incorporated thereinto a water-soluble binder having a carboxyl group; at least one metallic ion selected from the group consisting of ions of alkaline earth metals, manganese, zinc, cobalt, and nickel; and an aqueous cleaning agent containing an organic solvent, is disclosed. The sheet satisfies both water disintegrability and strength even when cotained a cleaning agent of high water content.

Water-disintegrable cleaning sheet

A water-disintegrable cleaning article in a laminated sheet form comprising a laminated sheet prepared by sandwiching an inner sheet in between outer sheets, embossing the resultant laminate, and impregnating the embossed laminate with a water-containing cleaning agent. The cleaning article is provided with a difference in the content of a water-soluble binder between both sides of each of the outer sheets, with the side having a higher water-soluble binder content facing the inner sheet on each side thereof.
