Aspects relate to estimating occupancy of a wireless communication channel. A first user equipment (e.g., a first sidelink device) may transmit to a second user equipment (e.g., a second sidelink device) via one or more subchannels allocated for device-to-device communication. The second user equipment may also transmit to the first user equipment via one or more of the subchannels. To mitigate interference on the subchannels, the second user equipment may measure received signal strength on the subchannels to estimate the occupancy of the subchannels (e.g., by calculating a channel busy ratio). In addition, the second user equipment may account for signal leakage from a first subchannel (e.g., on which the first user equipment is transmitting data) onto a second subchannel. As a result, subchannels that may otherwise be indicated as occupied due to leakage may instead by indicated as unoccupied, thereby improving the accuracy of the channel occupancy estimation.

Channel occupancy for wireless communication

Various embodiments provide methods, vehicle computing devices, storage media, and systems for briefly providing PathHistory information in Broadcast Safety Messages (BSMs) sent from a vehicle when PathHistory information is not required to be included in all BSMs. Various embodiments may include broadcasting BSMs including PathHistory information during a period of time following a change of the vehicle's pseudonym certificate and broadcasting BSMs without PathHistory information at all other times. Some embodiments may further include determining whether sufficient path history points are available for PathHistory information generation, accumulating path history points in response to determining that sufficient path history points are not available for PathHistory information generation, and broadcasting BSMs including PathHistory information during the period of time once sufficient path history points have been accumulated.

Method of efficiently providing pathhistory in C-V2X

Various aspects related to a platooning group in a V2V and/or V2X network are described. In an aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided. The apparatus maybe a first UE configured to transmit a first message to announce an existence of the platooning group. In one configuration, the first UE may receive, in response to the first message, a second message indicating a request to join the platooning group from a second UE. The first UE may allow or deny the second UE to join the platooning group based on the second message. In another aspect, the apparatus maybe a first UE configured to receive a first message indicating an existence of a platooning group. The first UE may be configured to decode a portion of the first message, and determine whether the platooning group is a private group based on the decoding.

Methods and apparatus related to a platooning group

Aspects are provided for dynamic resource sharing between V2V and I2V communications. A wireless device selects resources from a shared resource pool in frequency and time. The shared resource pool is shared for I2V communication and communication over a PC5 interface originating from a User Equipment (UE). The wireless device identifies a first priority level for communication from a set of priority levels for I2V communication and UE originated communication. The set of priority levels may comprise at least one priority level unique to the I2V communication.

Mechanisms for dynamic I2V and V2V resource sharing using a shared resource pool

Various embodiments include methods that may be performed in a computing device of a vehicle for communicating permanent vehicle identification information in vehicle communications in response to detecting that there is a need to send the vehicle permanent identification information to a concerned party. The computing device may generate a message including the vehicle permanent identification information, and transmit the generated message to a roadside unit for routing to the concerned party. In some embodiments, the permanent vehicle identification information may be included in cellular vehicle-to-everything (C-V2X) protocol messages.

Certain aspects of the present disclosure propose techniques for transmitting uplink transmissions in special subframes for LTE TDD systems. Certain aspects provide a method that generally includes determining a region of uplink transmissions in uplink pilot timeslot (UpPTS), wherein the UpPTS comprises three or more symbols allocated for uplink transmissions, and transmitting in the UpPTS.

A method for data processing is provided, the method comprises: determining the predicted transmission time required by the data packet to be transmitted currently during the transmission course and the residence time for the data packet residing in the buffer; when the sum of the predicted transmission time and the residence time is greater than the predetermined air interface time delay, discarding the data packet. By utilizing the technical scheme of the invention, the discarding time of the data packet is dynamically adjusted, the packet discarding rate is reduced, and the service quality is improved.
