A connector includes an insulative housing having opposite upper and lower surfaces with a plurality of passageways extending therethrough, and a plurality of contacts retained in the corresponding passageways, respectively. Each contact includes a primary part and a secondary part discrete from each other. The primary part includes a first main body with a first spring arm extend upwardly through the upper surface for mating with the CPU, and a first soldering section around the lower surface. The secondary part includes a second main body with a second spring arm contacting the first main body, and a second soldering section around the lower surface. A solder ball is attached to the first soldering section and/or the second soldering section.

Electrical connector

A contact unit for use within a connector includes a primary piece essentially composed of an upper part and a lower part coupled with each other. The upper part includes an upper retaining section and a resilient upper contacting arm with an upper contacting section and an upper abutment section at a free end thereof. The lower part includes a lower retaining section and a resilient lower contacting arm extending downwardly with a lower contacting section and a lower abutment section at a free end thereof. A secondary piece is spaced from and opposite to the primary piece in a horizontal direction of the contacting arm, and includes an upper abutment region adapted to be abutted against by the upper abutment section of the upper contacting arm, and a lower abutment region adapted to be abutted against by the lower abutment section of the lower contacting arm.

An electrical connector includes an insulative housing with a plurality of passageways extending through opposite upper and lower surfaces of the housing. A plurality of electrical contacts are received within the corresponding passageways, respectively. Each contact includes a first main body and a second main body side by side arranged with each other with a bridge transversely linked therebetween. At least one of the first main body and the second main body includes a retaining barb for retaining contact in the passageway. Two soldering pads are formed on the corresponding bottom ends of the first main body and the second main body, respectively. The two soldering pads intimately confront each other either in a horizontal direction or in a vertical direction, and are joined together via a solder ball located under the two soldering pads.

An electrical connector assembly includes an electrical connector and the pick-up cap assembled upon the housing of the electrical connector. A plurality of contacts are disposed in the housing and covered by the pick-up cap. The pick-up cap includes a pair of first side walls, and the housing includes a pair of first side faces corresponding to the pair of corresponding first side walls. Each first side face forms a pair of locking recesses. Each first side wall includes an operation section and a pair of latches. The operation section includes a cavity in the first side wall and a raised section above the cavity. Each latch includes a spring arm, and a hook located at the end of the spring arm and engaged within the corresponding locking recess. The latch is located within the boundary of the housing without extending beyond the corresponding side face.

Electrical connector assembly mounted upon PCB

An electrical contact includes a retention section of an outer part and an extension section of an inner part parallel to each other and linked to each other via a transverse bridge located in another vertical plane perpendicular to both the retention section and the extension section. An upper contacting arm extends, toward the extension section, from an upper end of the retention section with an upper mating apex and an upper abutment tip region, and a lower contacting arm extends, toward the extension, from a lower end of the retention section with a lower mating apex and a lower abutment tip region. An upper abutment tab upwardly and obliquely extends from an upper end of the extension section toward the retention section and adapted to be mated with the upper abutment tip region when the upper contacting arm is downwardly depressed by the CPU.

Electrical contact

An electrical connector includes an insulative rectangular housing with a planar base defining opposite upper surface and lower surface thereon. Four restriction parts are formed at four corners of the base to cooperate with the base for commonly forming a receiving cavity to receive the electronic package therein. A plurality of first contacts are disposed in the base with corresponding contacting sections upwardly extending into the receiving cavity to upwardly abut against the corresponding pads on the undersurface of the electronic package. A plurality of second contacts are disposed in the base with corresponding contacting sections sidewardly extending into the receiving cavity to sidewardly abut against the corresponding pads on the side faces of the electronic package.

An electrical connector for connection between the CPU and the PCB includes an insulative housing, an insulative plate below the housing and a plurality of contacts retained to the housing and the plate. The housing forms a receiving cavity for receiving the CPU, and the plate forms a mounting face confronting the PCB. Each contact includes an upper part and a lower part discrete and independent from each other. The upper part includes an upward resilient arm extending into the receiving cavity for mechanically and electrically connecting to the CPU, and a bottom connecting section. The lower part includes a downward resilient arm extending toward the PCB for mechanically and electrically connecting to the PCB, and a top connecting section. The bottom connecting section and the top connecting section are mechanically and electrically connected to each other.

An electrical connector includes a plurality of contact units each having a first part and a second part mechanically and electrically connected to each other wherein the first part provides the spring contacting section for performing the superior mechanical resiliency while the second part provides the mounting section soldered upon the printed circuit board and configured to lower the impedance compared with the first part and provide strong retention thereof.

An electrical contact includes a planar main body, a supporting arm extending upwardly from an upper edge thereof, and a spring arm extending curvedly and upwardly from a lower edge thereof with a contacting region at a free end region. The spring arm will contact the supporting arm when the spring arm is downwardly pressed by the CPU. A connecting part extends from an upper portion of the main body for connecting to a carrier strip, and includes a first connecting section coplanar with the main body, and a second connecting section perpendicular to the first connecting section wherein the carrier strip is connected to an upper edge of the second connecting section so as to be spaced from the corresponding spring arm and supporting arm, thus avoiding improper coating thereupon when the gold coating is applied to the self-contacting regions of the spring arm and supporting arm.

Electrical contact and carrier associated therewith

An electrical contact includes a main body, a supporting arm extending upwardly from an upper edge thereof, and a spring arm extending curvedly and upwardly from a lower edge thereof with a contacting region at a free end. The spring arm will contact the supporting arm when the spring arm is downwardly pressed by the CPU. A solder part is sidewardly connected to a downward extension formed on a lower portion of the main body and located beside the spring arm, and includes a vertical section extending from the side edge of the downward extension, a horizontal solder pad extending from a lower edge of the vertical direction wherein a curved joint is formed between the downward extension and the vertical section for easy adjusting the angle formed between the downward extension and the vertical section, thus being adapted to fit different CPUs and PCBs.

An electrical connector includes an insulative housing retaining a plurality of contacts therein. The contact includes a mating part with a first body and a spring arm extending therefrom for mating a conductive pad of a CPU (Central Processing Unit), and a soldering part with a second body and a solder tail extending therefrom for mounting a solder ball thereon. The spring arm is downwardly pressed by the CPU to contact the soldering part when the CPU is mounted upon the electrical connector The mating part and the soldering part are spaced from each other either without any connection, or alternately linked with each other via a bridge transversely connected therebetween wherein the latter may optionally omit the barbed structure from one of the mating part and the soldering part.

An electrical contact for connecting a chip module to a print circuit board, the electrical contact comprises a main body, an upper elastic arm and a lower mounting arm extending upwardly from the main body, and a lower elastic arm and a lower mounting arm extending downwardly from the main body. The upper mounting arm is disposed at the downside of the upper elastic arm and forms a space therebetween; the lower mounting arm is disposed at the downside of the lower elastic arm and forms a space therebetween. The upper elastic arm and the lower elastic arm are respectively deformed by the chip module and print circuit board to resist to the upper mounting arm and lower mounting arm, thereby shortening the current path between the chip module and the print circuit board for improving the high frequency performance of an electrical connector.

A interconnection system includes a panel side kit and a wall-mount kit coupled with each other and secured together via magnetic forces. The wall-mount kit includes a printed circuit board enclosed within a bracket and defining a center region for power transmission and a pair of side regions for high speed transmission. In the side regions, on the coupling side a plurality of wireless transmission units are located while on the back side a plurality of ROSA OE modules are provided to transfer the optical signal from optical fibers to the electronic signal for wireless transmission wherein the optical fibers are linked to a control box via a plurality of TOSA EO modules. The panel side kit includes wireless receiving units that interact with the wireless transmission units, and a plurality of connectors with the body of the display.

Interconnection system with hybrid transmission

A receptacle connector includes an insulative housing defining a base and a mating tongue extending with a step portion defined at a root region of the mating tongue; a plurality of contacts disposed in the insulative housing with contacting sections exposed upon a first surface and a second surface of the mating tongue and categorized with signal contacts, power contacts and grounding contacts; a shielding plate embedded with the mating tongue and forming a pair of locking edge in two opposite lateral side edges; and an EMI collar intimately surrounding the step portion, the collar comprising two long portions covering the first surface and the second surface of the step portion and two short portions connecting with opposite ends of the long portions. A lateral rigid finger extends straight from a side of the shielding plate and touch an inner side of a short portion of the collar.
