A rail detecting device includes: a starting-region rail-starting-point redesignating unit that shifts a starting region for detecting rails to set a modified starting region and designates modified starting points of two rails at the lower edge of the modified starting region when portions of the two rails are not detected based on rail segments in an image; a rail-candidate detecting unit that detects multiple lines in the modified starting region as multiple modified rail candidates, the lines being candidates of edges of the two rails; a starting-region-rail assigning unit that assigns modified rail candidates whose lowest ends are closest to the corresponding modified starting points out of the multiple modified rail candidates as tentative modified rail segments; and a starting-region-rail disappearance determining unit that establishes the tentative modified rail segments as modified rail segments when distances between the lowest ends of the tentative modified rail segments.

A state determination device includes: an extraction unit that extracts a face region representing a region corresponding to a face from each of a plurality of frames successively obtained by capturing images of a user's face, extracts face feature points representing parts of the face from the face region, calculates a face feature value extraction region as a region where a change occurs in the face region when the user is in an unawakened state based on the face feature points, and extracts a face feature value as a feature value from the face feature value extraction region; a state determination unit that determines whether the user is in the unawakened state or not based on the face feature value in each of the plurality of frames and previously generated determination information; and an output unit that outputs a determination result.

An expression recognition device includes processing circuitry to acquire an image; extract a face area of a person from the acquired image and obtaining a face image added with information of the face area; extract one or more face feature points on a basis of the face image; determine a face condition representing a state of a face in the face image depending on reliability of each of the extracted face feature points; determine a reference point for extraction of a feature amount used for expression recognition from among the extracted face feature points depending on the determined face condition; extract the feature amount on a basis of the determined reference point; recognize a facial expression of the person in the face image using the extracted feature amount; and output information related to a recognition result of the facial expression of the person in the face image.

An image capture assist device includes a moving speed determining unit that determines whether or not a moving speed of a camera is greater than or equal to a threshold, a target outline determining unit that, if the moving speed determining unit has determined that the moving speed of the camera is greater than or equal to the threshold, determines, on a basis of a capture image obtained from the camera, whether a candidate inspection target, being an object that may be a target to be inspected, appears in the capture image, a moving speed instruction unit that, if the target outline determining unit has determined that the candidate inspection target appears in the capture image, outputs an instruction to reduce the moving speed of the camera, a target type determining unit that, if the moving speed determining unit has determined that the moving speed of the camera is less than the threshold, determines a type of a target appearing in the capture image on a basis of the capture image, and a shooting location determining unit that determines whether the type of the target determined by the target type determining unit matches a type of an inspection target to be currently inspected, and if the type of the target matches the type of the inspection target, determines that a current location of the camera is a shooting location, and outputs an instruction to stop a movement of the camera.
