Described herein is a crosslinked graphene and biopolymer (e.g. lignin) based composite membrane that provides selective resistance for solutes while providing water permeability. The membrane may include optional additional functional additives in a crosslinked material matrix that provides enhanced salt separation from water. Methods for making such membranes, and methods of using the membranes for dehydrating or removing solutes from water are also described.

Selectively permeable graphene oxide membrane

Described herein is a graphene material based membrane that provides selective resistance for solutes or gas while providing water permeability. A selectively permeable membrane comprising graphene oxide, reduced graphene oxide, and also functionalized or crosslinked between the graphene, that provides enhanced salt separation from water or gas permeability resistance, methods for making such membranes, and methods of using the membranes for dehydrating or removing solutes from water are also described.

The present invention relates to a method for producing a polyolefin porous film, the method including the steps of: (a) melt-kneading a solution containing a polyolefin having a weight average molecular weight of 500,000 or more and a solvent to obtain a kneaded product; (b) extruding and cooling the kneaded product to obtain a gel-like molded product; (c) drawing the gel-like molded product to obtain a drawn sheet; (d) removing the solvent from the drawn sheet, followed by drying to obtain a film in which fine pores are formed; (e) conducting heat treatment, while fixing the film in both directions of a MD and a TD thereof and drawing the film at a draw ratio of exceeding 0% to less than 0.1% in at least one direction of the MD and the TD thereof; and (f) conducting heat treatment while decreasing a width of the film in at least one direction of the MD and the TD of the film.

Polyolefin porous film, method for producing the same and apparatus for producing the same

A film winding core () of the present invention includes a bearing portion (), a plurality of blade portions, and a plurality of film supporting portions (). The bearing portion () constitutes a tubular portion into which a shaft used to rotate the film winding core () is to be inserted. The plurality of blade portions () are provided respectively at a plurality of positions in a rotational direction of the bearing portion () and respectively extending outwardly from the bearing portion () so as to partition a space around the bearing portion () in the rotational direction. The plurality of film supporting portions () are respectively provided at positions outward from leading edges of the blade portions (), and has an outwardly protruding shape so that a film () is supported away from the film winding core () between the film supporting portions () that are adjacent to each other in the rotational direction.

The method for producing a porous film of the present invention includes producing a stretched film by stretching a resin sheet containing at least polyolefin, and then irradiating the stretched film with a vacuum ultraviolet ray. The separator for a non-aqueous electrolyte battery of the present invention is composed of the porous film obtained by the production method of the present invention. The non-aqueous electrolyte battery of the present invention is provided with the separator for a non-aqueous electrolyte battery of the present invention.

The present invention relates to a battery separator including: a porous substrate; and a layer of a crosslinked polymer supported on at least one surface of the porous substrate, in which the crosslinked polymer is obtained by reacting (a) a reactive polymer having, in the molecule thereof, a first reactive group containing active hydrogen and a second reactive group having cationic polymerizability with (b) a polycarbonate urethane prepolymer terminated by an isocyanate group.

Battery separator and battery using the same
