Phosphor particles for producing a wavelength conversion member of a projector, including CASN, and/or SCASN. A cured sheet having a film thickness of 50±5 μm produced by using the particle satisfies the following optical characteristics: when an intensity at a peak wavelength of blue light emitted from a blue LED having a peak wavelength between 450 to 460 nm is defined as Ii [W/nm], and where the blue light is emitted to one surface side of the cured sheet, when an intensity of light emitted from the other surface side of the cured sheet at a peak wavelength between 450 to 460 nm is defined as It [W/nm] and an intensity thereof at a peak wavelength between 600 to 650 nm is defined as Ip [W/nm], It/Ii is equal to or less than 0.2 and Ip/Ii is equal to or more than 0.05.

A &#x3b2;-type sialon phosphor represented by the following expression 1, in which D50 is 10 &#x3bc;m or less, and values of D10, D50, and D90 satisfy a relationship of the following expression 2 with respect to D10, D50, and D90 (each unit is [&#x3bc;m]) on a volume frequency basis as measured according to a laser diffraction/scattering method. Expression 1: SiAlON:Eu(wherein 0&#x3c;a&#x2264;3; 0&#x3c;b&#x2264;3; 0&#x3c;x&#x2264;0.1), expression 2: (D90&#x2212;D10)/D50&#x3c;1.6 (wherein the D10, D50, and D90 (each unit is [&#x3bc;m]) on a volume frequency basis as measured according to the laser diffraction/scattering method.

Provided is a fluoride phosphor having a composition represented by the general formula (1):ASiF:Mn&#x2003;&#x2003;(1)in which A represents at least one alkali metal comprising at least K. The fluoride phosphor has a ratio (A1/A2) of an area (A1) of a spectrum in a range of from 637 eV or more to less than 645 eV in XPS measurement to an area (A2) of a spectrum in a range of from 682.8 eV or more to less than 690 eV in XPS measurement, of 0.0008 to 0.0025.

Fluoride phosphors and light emitting devices using the same

The present invention is directed to provide a hydrophobized phosphor not susceptible to separation at the interface with sealing resins and, by using this hydrophobized phosphor, a light-emitting device having excellent long-term stability and little change in luminance and emission color over time. The hydrophobized phosphor is characterized in that it comprises phosphor particles represented by the general formula SiAlON:Eu(where z is larger than 0 and no more than 4.2); and a surface layer consisting of a hydrophobic substance deposited on the surfaces of the phosphor particles; wherein the hydrophobic substance consists of a long-chain fatty acid having 12 or more carbon atoms, a silicone oil having a viscosity of 1.5 Pa&#xb7;s or less, or a combination thereof. The light-emitting device is characterized in that it comprises the hydrophobized phosphor and a light-emitting element.

An optical reception device realizes stabilization of reception sensitivity inexpensively and highly precisely. The optical reception device includes: a Mach-Zehnder type 1-bit delay unit including a one-terminal input port and two-terminal output ports for decoding an optical difference phase shift keying (DPSK) signal and provided with one or more phase control functions to control the phase state of light; photoelectric conversion means for branching a portion of an optical output signal output from the one-side output port of the Mach-Zehnder type 1-bit delay unit, to convert the branched portion into an electric signal; and a phase control unit for controlling the phase state of the Mach-Zehnder type 1-bit delay device by using as an error signal the output signal of the photoelectric conversion means.
