A harness grommet includes an inner tubular portion,, provided within an outer tubular portion,, and a flexible portion,extending from the inner tubular portion in a flaring manner. The flexible portion is turned back into the outer tubular portion to form a sound-insulating air layer. A cylindrical portion,extends from the flexible portion,, and an inverting folding portion,is formed at the boundary between the flexible portion and the cylindrical portion, and a sound-insulating membrane,is formed by the flexible portion and the cylindrical portion. An outer diameter D,of the cylindrical portion,is larger than an inner diameter D,of the outer tubular portion.

A lever,is pivotally supported on a male connector,through bosses,and an engagement projection,is formed on a lower portion of a front end portion of each side wall,of the lever,and a side projection,which is disposed beneath the boss,in an initial fitting condition, is formed on each side wall,Guide step grooves,for respectively guiding the side projections,are formed in an inner face,A of a hood portion,of the female connector,A first step portion,A and a second step portion,B are formed intermediate opposite ends of the guide step groove,When the side projection,abut respectively against the side projections,the engagement projections can be engaged respectively in engagement grooves,Therefore, the lever,is provisionally retained by the second step portions,B, and in this condition the lever,is pivotally moved so as to positively engage the engagement projections,respectively in the engagement grooves,Therefore, the lever,will not idle, and the male connector,can be positively fitted into the hood portion
