A first case is integrally provided with a connection housing open to a side of the first case. A second case is integrally provided with a support base projecting toward the first case and facing inside the connection housing from a window provided in the connection housing. A bus bar included in a connection terminal disposed inside the connection housing is provided along the support base and is interposed between the support base and the first case, and is positioned in a projecting direction of the connection terminal.

A fusible link adapted to be connected to a battery terminal and a compact and thin battery fuse unit that contains the fusible link and battery terminal. The link, formed by punching out an electrically conductive metallic plate, includes an input side connecting-section, an output side connecting-section, a fusible section having a narrow width and provided between the input and output side connecting-sections, and a resin section enclosing the fusible section. Coupling portions between the fusible section and the input and output side connecting-sections are molded in the resin section. The input and output side connecting-sections are arranged on the angled positions with respect to the fusible section. The fusible link and a battery terminal connected to the input side connecting-section of the fusible link are contained in a casing so that arc portions of the battery terminal are exposed from the casing. The arc portions engage a battery post.

A tab protection member in a male connector housing on an outer surface of an electric junction box is moveable from a temporary engagement position to a final engagement position. The tab protection member is provided with tab through-holes and a closing plate section for closing an opening in the male connector housing. When the female connector housing is coupled to the male connector housing, the tab protection member is forcibly moved from the temporary engagement position to the final engagement position by the female connector housing and the tabs penetrate the tab through-holes, thereby coupling the tabs to terminals in the female connector housing.

An electrically conductive metal plate is stamped out to yield a fuse unit including an input terminal and several output terminals. The fuse unit further includes a predetermined locus where fuse element portions are to be formed later. A surface area of the fuse unit including the predetermined locus is then molded with an insulator material. Thereafter, the fuse element portions are formed at the predetermined locus by, for example, stamping. In this manner, the fuse unit can be manufactured easily at low costs, irrespective of the number and electrical capacity of the fuse element portions.

Fuse unit and manufacturing method thereof

A fuse box device is provided that includes a fuse box and a fuse unit contained therein. The fuse unit includes an input terminal directly connectable to a battery, several output terminals connectable to a wire harness, and several fuse element portions. One end of the fuse element portions is formed unitarily and in one piece with the input terminal, while the other end of the fuse element portions is formed unitarily and in one piece with the output terminals. The fuse unit is contained in the fuse box such that only the input terminal projects out of the fuse box. In such a construction, the fuse box device requires a reduced number of spare parts, so that production costs can be lowered. Moreover, the fuse box device is better suited to a miniaturization and less susceptible to assembly errors.

A high-voltage fuse box comprising: a box body; at least one first connection plate which is electrically conductive and is secured to the box body; at least one second connection plate which is electrically conductive and is secured to the box body: a plate fuse which has opposite fixing terminals such that the fixing terminals are fixed to one end portion of the first connection plate and one end portion of the second connection plate with machine screws, respectively; a first electric wire which has a first terminal; and a second electric wire which has a second terminal such that the first and second terminals are fixed to the other end portion of the first connection plate and the other end portion of the second connection plate with machine screws, respectively.

High-voltage fuse box

A device for automatically fixing bus bars and after-fixing bus bars on an insulating board includes a workpiece setting table, on which a bus bar plate and an insulating board are set, is moved towards an upper die and a lower die, which are provided with an insulating board holding section and a bridge cutting and bus bar fixing section. The upper die is moved downwardly and upwardly, so that the bridges are removed from the bus bar plate, and the insulating board is picked up. Thereafter, an insulating board holding board holding the insulating board is moved to the bridge cutting and bus bar fixing section. The upper die is moved downwardly and upwardly again, so that bus bars are fixed onto the insulating board. As the upper die moves downwardly and then upwardly, the bridges are removed from the bus bar plate, and the insulating board and the intermediate product are lifted. Under this condition, the holding board is moved toward the cut punch plate, and the upper die is moved again downwardly and then upwardly, so that the first-fixing group of bus bars are fixed onto the insulating board while the after-fixing group of bus bars are fixed onto the intermediate product, whereby an intermediate product and a complete product are newly formed.
