A vehicle may include a vehicle body including a floor panel, a battery pack located below the floor panel, and an energy absorption member located outwardly from the battery pack in a vehicle width direction and fixing the battery pack to the vehicle body. The energy absorption member may be a hollow member extending along a vehicle longitudinal direction and having a constant cross section along the vehicle longitudinal direction. An inner sidewall of the energy absorption member that faces the battery pack may incline downwardly in a vehicle height direction as it extends inwardly in the vehicle width direction.

Vehicle having an energy absorption member

A vehicle may include a vehicle body including a floor panel, a battery pack located below the floor panel and an energy absorption member located outwardly from the battery pack in a vehicle width direction and fixing the battery pack to the vehicle body. A support that protrudes downwardly may be disposed on a lower wall of the battery pack. The energy absorption member may include a protrusion that protrudes inwardly in the vehicle width direction toward the support. A tip end of the protrusion may include a contact surface being in contact with a side surface of the support in the vehicle width direction.

Vehicle

A vehicle includes a vehicle body provided with each of a pair of rockers on each side of a floor panel in a right-left direction, a battery pack that stores electric power to be supplied to a traction motor, and a pair of fixing members that fixes the battery pack to the rockers. The battery pack and the fixing members are joined by a plurality of adhesion members. The adhesion members are intermittently laid out along a vehicle length direction of the vehicle.

A vehicle body lower structure may include: a hollow rocker arranged at a lower lateral part of a vehicle body and extending along a front-rear direction of the vehicle body; a power source arranged adjacent to the rocker; an energy absorbing member connected to the power source and arranged under the rocker; and a collar arranged between the rocker and the energy absorbing member. The rocker may be provided with a flange extending downward from a bottom plate of the rocker. A height of the collar above the energy absorbing member may be greater than a height of the flange.

A vehicle body lower structure may include: a rocker; an energy absorbing member (an EA member) arranged under the rocker, the EA member being a hollow beam; and a collar penetrating an upper plate of the EA member and welded to the upper plate. The collar is arranged between the rocker and a lower plate of the EA member. The EA member includes a first/a second/a third vertical plates and a diagonal brace, these plates connect the upper plate and the lower plate of the EA member to each other. The second vertical plate is positioned between the first and the third vertical plates. The collar passes between the first vertical plate and the second vertical plate. The diagonal brace connects a first inner corner where the second vertical plate meets the upper plate and a second inner corner where the third vertical plate meets the lower plate.

A vehicle body lower structure may include: a rocker; a power source; an energy absorbing member (EA member) arranged under the rocker; and a collar penetrating an upper plate of the EA member. The EA member includes a first vertical plate, a second vertical plate, and a diagonal brace; the first vertical plate and the second vertical plate connect the upper and lower plates to each other, the first vertical plate is arranged adjacent to the collar, the second vertical plate is arranged adjacent to the first vertical plate on an opposite side from the collar, and the diagonal brace connects a first inner corner where the first vertical plate meets the lower plate and a second inner corner where the second vertical plate meets the upper plate.

A vehicular energy absorbing member that is disposed between a bumper reinforcement and a framework of a vehicle includes an energy absorbing portion that has a tubular shape and is configured to absorb impact energy by being plastically deformed to be compressed in an axial direction. An outer circumferential surface of the energy absorbing portion has a circular tubular shape and an inner circumferential surface of the energy absorbing portion includes a ridge portion having a shape extending in the axial direction of the energy absorbing portion.

Vehicular energy absorbing member and manufacturing method thereof

A bumper reinforcement includes a front wall, a rear wall, and a connection wall. Intermediate portions, in an extending direction, of the front wall and the rear wall are parallel to each other. An end portion, in the extending direction, of the front wall is bent toward the rear wall when viewed from the intermediate portion of the front wall. An end portion, in the extending direction, of the connection wall includes a front part and a rear part, and each of the front and rear parts extends from an inside to an outside in the vehicle width direction. A distance between a front end of the rear part and the rear wall gradually decreases in a direction from a base end of the rear part toward a distal end thereof. The front part is provided so as to extend along the front end of the rear part.
