An object is to provide a dispersion resin composition which can maintain dispersion stability even if the added amount of an emulsifier is reduced. Provided is a dispersion resin composition including, at least: a modified polyolefin resin in which a modification component containing an α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid derivative with a ring structure has been introduced to a polyolefin resin; and an aqueous dispersion medium, wherein the modified polyolefin resin has a degree of ring opening, represented by the equation (1), of 70 or more:degree of ring opening=modification degree×rate of ring opening  (1)

Dispersion resin composition

The present invention has an object to provide a modified polyolefin resin capable of forming a coating film that is excellent in water-resistant adhesiveness under a high temperature condition. The present invention provides a modified polyolefin resin including a graft-modified product in which a component (A) that is a polyolefin resin is graft-modified with a component (B) that is an α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid or a derivative thereof, and having a tensile modulus of 250 MPa or higher, and a weight-average molecular weight of 70,000 or more and less than 200,000.

Modified polyolefin resin and dispersion composition thereof

A modified polyolefin resin may be capable of obtaining an intended adhesion strength regardless of a kind of a base resin thereof even when graft modification is carried out by using an α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid derivative having a cyclic structure. Such a modified polyolefin resin may be a modified product of a polyolefin resin and satisfying (A) and (B): (A): a modifying component includes an α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid derivative having a cyclic structure; and (B): a ring-opening degree expressed by formula (1) is 40 or more:ring-opening degree=modification degree×ring-opening rate  (1),wherein, in formula (1), the modification degree K is a grafting weight (% by weight) of the α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid derivative, and the ring-opening rate R is a ring-opening rate (%) of the cyclic structure in the α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid derivative.

Modified polyolefin resin

A modified polyolefin resin having an intended adhesion strength to various substrates even when graft modification may be carried out by using an α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid derivative having a cyclic structure. The modified polyolefin resin may be a modified product of a polyolefin resin and satisfies conditions (A) to (C): condition (A)—a modifying component includes an α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid derivative having a cyclic structure; condition (B)—a ring-opening degree expressed by formula (1) is 40 or more; and condition (C)—the polyolefin resin includes an ethylene structural unit,ring-opening degree=modification degree×ring-opening rate  (1)wherein, in the formula (1), the modification degree K is a grafting weight (wt. %) of the α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid derivative, and the ring-opening rate R is a ring-opening rate (%) of the cyclic structure in the α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid derivative.

The present invention aims to provide a resin having an excellent solubility to alcohols, an excellent adherability to nonpolar base materials such as polyolefin, and not containing chlorine; and to provide a resin composition containing a urethane resin, not having the elimination problem of hydrochloric acid caused by external factors, having a good compatibility with a variety of components containing urethane resins, and having a good adherability to a variety of base materials, so that the resin composition can suitably be used as an ink, an adhesive, and paint. The present invention provides a block copolymer comprising a polymer block (A) mainly comprising olefin monomers and a polymer block (B) comprising vinyl monomers having hydroxy groups and other vinyl monomers copolymerizable with the vinyl monomers having hydroxy groups, in which a hydroxy value is within a range of 5 mg KOH/g to 120 mg KOH/g; a dispersion thereof; a resin composition containing the block copolymer and a urethane resin; and uses thereof.

Block copolymer and resin composition

It is an object of the present invention to provide a chlorinated polyolefin resin having favorable adhesion to a polyolefin resin and high solubility in a composition containing an alcohol-based solvent. The present invention provides a chlorinated polyolefin resin that exhibits, in infrared spectroscopy spectrum measurement, a peak area ratio A/B&#xd7;100 of 10% or higher, a peak area ratio C/B&#xd7;100 of 30 to 80%, and a peak area ratio A/C&#xd7;100 of 30% or higher (wherein 'A' is the area of a peak resulting from hydroxyl groups, 'B' is the area of a peak resulting from methylene groups, and &#x201c;C&#x201d; is the area of a peak resulting from carbonyl groups). The present invention also provides an ink composition for gravure printing or flexography that contains the chlorinated polyolefin resin, a printed material obtained using the above composition, and a printing method using the above composition.

Chlorinated polyolefin resin

A resin which has excellent adhesion to nonpolar substrates, is nontacky, and has satisfactory solubility in aromatic or nonaromatic solvents and satisfactory compatibility with other resins. The resin is a modified polyolefin resin having a weight-average molecular weight of 15,000 to 150,000 obtained by modifying a polyolefin resin by grafting thereto (A) an unsaturated polycarboxylic acid or a derivative thereof and (B) a (meth)acrylic ester represented by a specific general formula, the contents of (A) and (B) in the modified polyolefin resin being 0.1 to 20 wt. % and 0.1 to 30 wt. %, respectively.
