An ink jet recording sheet which absorbs water-base ink well, gives high-grade images, and ensures excellent water resistance of printed images. The ink jet recording sheet comprises a substrate and an ink receptive layer disposed on the substrate, the ink receptive layer containing a pigment and a binder as its main components, the improvement comprising the ink receptive layer being an aqueous composition containing a pigment and an ampho-ion latex as its main components.

An image-receiving sheet for thermal sublimable dye-transfer recording is disclosed, comprising a base paper; a layer provided on said base paper, said layer being prepared by extrusion coating a molten thermoplastic polymer; and an image-receiving layer provided on said layer, said image-receiving layer comprising a solvent-free, radiation-curable resin composition which is dyeable with a sublimable dye and having been cured upon irradiation. The image-receiving sheet of the invention has high gloss and provides recorded images free from unevenness of printing and having high recorded density.

An image-receiving sheet for thermal dye-transfer recording using a sublimable dye is disclosed, comprising a support having thereon an image-receiving layer for receiving a transferred image from a coloring material-transferring sheet, wherein said image-receiving layer is a layer formed by coating a substantially solvent-free coating composition comprising (A) a macromonomer dyeable with a sublimable dye and containing a radical polymerizable functional group at one terminal of the molecular chain thereof, said macromonomer being solid at room temperature, dissolved in (B) a liquid radiation-curable monomer and/or oligomer on a support and irradiating the coat with radiation. The image-receiving sheet has high surface gloss, undegoes no blocking with the coloring material-transferring sheet, and provides a recorded image having high density and excellent storage stability.

Image-receiving sheet for thermal dye-transfer recording

Provided herein is a recording sheet composed of a support base and a recording layer formed thereon. The recording layer is formed by curing, with radiation, a material composed mainly of a hydrophilic resin prepolymer curable with radiation, said prepolymer having a polyether skeleton and ethylenic unsaturated groups curable with radiation at both terminals thereof. The recording sheet permits printing and drawing on an ink jet printer or pen plotter which uses water-based ink. The recording layer permits the writing and coloring in a water-based ink with a pen, marker, or fountain pen and yet has good water resistance. The recording sheet is particularly useful as a transparency for overhead projectors.

A heat-sensitive recording material comprising a support, a heat-sensitive recording layer containing a color former and a color developer forming color by the contact with the color former formed on the support, an interlayer containing a water-soluble resin or a water-dispersible resin as the main component formed on the heat-sensitive recording layer, and an overcoat layer formed by forming a layer containing (1) a macromonomer having a polymerizable functional group at one terminal of the molecular chain, the main component of the segment being organopolysiloxane and (2) a resin capable of being cured by electron beams on the interlayer and curing the layer by the irradiation of electron beams.
