A liquid ejection apparatus includes a liquid ejection section configured to print by discharging a liquid from a nozzle, a liquid container having an accommodation chamber that stores liquid and an injection port that communicates with the accommodation chamber and into which the liquid is configured to be injectable from the outside, a supply flow path communicating between the liquid ejection section and the liquid container, and an opening and closing mechanism. The opening and closing mechanism that is configured to switch such that an open state in which the supply flow path is opened and a closed state in which the supply flow path is closed when power is turned on and not to switch when power is turned off.

Liquid ejection apparatus

Printing is performed with a printing material accommodated in a printing material accommodation body. Accommodation body information on the printing material accommodation body is acquired. When the accommodation body information on the printing material accommodation body is first information, an operation of a first mode is performed. Meanwhile, when the accommodation body information on the printing material accommodation body is second information, in a case in which a permission condition is satisfied according to communication with a server apparatus, an operation of a second mode is performed.

A liquid ejecting apparatus includes a liquid ejecting portion that performs printing by ejecting a liquid to a medium from a plurality of nozzles, a first mounting portion that is configured to mount a first liquid container that contains the liquid, a second mounting portion that is configured to mount a second liquid container having a liquid containing amount smaller than a liquid containing amount of the first liquid container, a detecting portion that detects a remaining amount of the liquid contained in the first liquid container mounted in the first mounting portion, and a control portion that calculates a remaining amount of the liquid contained in the second liquid container, based on a standard value representing an amount of the liquid contained in the second liquid container and a standard value representing an ejection amount of the liquid ejected from the liquid ejecting portion.

Liquid ejecting apparatus

A liquid ejecting apparatus includes a liquid ejecting head ejecting liquid onto a medium transported on a transport path extending in a depth direction, a carriage holding the liquid ejecting head and reciprocally moving in a width direction so as to cross the transport path, and a waste liquid containing portion containing waste liquid discharged from the liquid ejecting head. The carriage includes a plurality of liquid containers that contain the liquid and are mounted on the carriage in such a manner that a plurality of the liquid containers are arranged side by side with each other in the depth direction. A portion of the carriage overlaps the waste liquid containing portion in a vertical direction when the liquid ejecting head is outside the transport path.

A liquid ejecting apparatus includes a liquid ejecting head that ejects a liquid to a medium transported along a transport path, a suction mechanism that sucks an interior of the liquid ejecting head, an atmospheric pressure detection unit that has a vent for communication with an atmosphere and that detects atmospheric pressure, and a control unit that controls operation of the suction mechanism on the basis of a value of atmospheric pressure detected by the atmospheric pressure detection unit. The atmospheric pressure detection unit is disposed at a location that is outside the transport path and that is higher than the transport path.

A liquid ejecting apparatus includes a liquid ejecting head configured to eject liquid; a control unit that makes the liquid ejecting head execute a plurality of types of preliminary ejection, which are ejection of liquid onto a medium and ejection of liquid onto an area outside the medium; and a plurality of receiving portions configured to receive liquid ejected by preliminary ejection, wherein the control unit changes the receiving portion that receives liquid ejected by preliminary ejection depending on the types of preliminary ejection.

A printer includes a recording head having a nozzle forming surface formed with nozzles adapted to eject liquid; a wiper having an outer surface of a cylindrical surface shape capable of absorbing the ink attached to the nozzle forming surface; a motor that is driven, when moving the wiper in a direction in which the outer surface reaches the nozzle forming surface and in a direction in which the outer surface is separated from the nozzle forming surface, and is also driven when rotating the wiper; and a contact member coming into contact with the outer surface of the wiper rotated along with driving of the motor.

A waste liquid absorption material is laid within a waste liquid receptacle, and a portion of the waste liquid absorption material into which liquid flows is heated, causing the temperature of that portion to rise. This makes it possible to instigate a temperature difference between one side and the other side of capillary tubes within the waste liquid absorption material through which the liquid permeates, which makes it easy for the liquid to move from the high-temperature side to the low-temperature side of the waste liquid absorption material due to the thermocapillary phenomenon. This in turn makes it possible to increase the speed at which the liquid is absorbed by the waste liquid absorption material.
