A method and system that include receiving sensor data that is indicative of an operational status of a well construction equipment that is being utilized to construct a planned well that include receiving a well construction plan that includes information that is indicative of the planned well and the well construction equipment. The method and system additionally include accessing a database of operational sequences that are executable to be performed by the well construction equipment to construct a plurality of wells and selecting from the database an operational sequence to construct the planned well. The method and system further include electronically controlling the well construction equipment to autonomously perform the plurality of physical or mechanical operations of the selected operational sequence to drill at least one of: a selected portion of the planned well and a path along the selected portion of the planned well through a subterranean formation.

Embodiments disclosed provide a pump assembly including a first pump for delivering at least one fluid. The first pump may include a first inlet coupled to the first pump for delivering at least one first fluid to the first pump, a second inlet coupled to the first pump for delivering at least one second fluid to the first pump, a first discharge coupled to the first pump for delivering the at least one first fluid at a first pressure, and a second discharge coupled to the first pump for delivering the at least one second fluid at a second pressure. In some embodiments, the first discharge and the second discharge are isolated from each other.

A method may comprise commencing operation of an equipment controller of a control system for monitoring and controlling a well construction system. The well construction system may comprise well construction equipment operable to perform well construction operations. Commencing operation of the equipment controller may cause the equipment controller to receive sensor data from a sensor, detect an abnormal downhole event based on the sensor data, select an operational sequence to be performed by the well construction equipment based on the abnormal downhole event, and output control data to cause the well construction equipment to perform the operational sequence thereby mitigating the abnormal downhole event.

Automating well construction operations based on detected abnormal events

Apparatus and methods regarding a first processing system operable to receive a job plan developed by a second processing system, and implement the job plan, including generating commands for an equipment controller based on the job plan. The first processing system is operable to transmit, through a network, the commands to the controller for execution by the controller. The first processing system is operable to iteratively (i) monitor, through the network, current conditions of the well construction system during execution of commands by the controller; (ii) update the implementation of the job plan, including generating updated commands for the controller based on the job plan and the current well construction system conditions when the current well construction system conditions indicate a deviation from the implementation; and (iii) transmit, through the network, the updated commands to the controller for execution by the controller.

A supervisory control system for a well construction rig operable to perform well construction operations to construct a planned well at a wellsite. The supervisory control system may be installable in association with the well construction rig. The supervisory control system may comprise a supervisory controller communicatively connectable with a central controller of a rig control system of the well construction rig. The rig control system may be communicatively connected with and operable to control well construction equipment of the well construction rig. The supervisory controller may be operable to control the well construction equipment via the rig control system to cause the well construction equipment to perform the well construction operations. The central controller may be operable as an I/O interface for matching inputs and outputs of the supervisory controller with corresponding inputs and outputs of at least one piece of the well construction equipment.

A monitoring system for determining a stickup height of a drill string. The monitoring system includes a video camera operable to facilitate a digital image, a block position sensor operable to facilitate block position measurements, and/or a processing device. The processing device receives the digital image, recognizes an upper end of the drill string or a connection joint of the drill string on the digital image, and determines the stickup height based on location of the upper end of the drill string or the connection joint of the drill string on the digital image. The processing device may also or instead record a pipe tally indicative of a length of each drill pipe and a location of each drill pipe within the drill string, receive the block position measurements, and determine the stickup height based on the pipe tally and block position measurements.

Apparatus and methods for managing power at a wellsite. An example apparatus may include a well construction equipment operable to construct a well at the wellsite, a power supply system operable to output electrical power to the well construction equipment to facilitate operation of the well construction equipment, and a control system for controlling the well construction system. The control system may be operable to store a digital drilling program and cause the well construction equipment to perform planned well construction operations based on the digital drilling program. The digital drilling program may include an equipment operational plan indicative of the planned well construction operations to be performed by the well construction equipment to construct the well, and an electrical power plan indicative of a planned electrical power demand of the well construction equipment to perform the planned well construction operations.

An apparatus and methods for detecting drill pipe connection joints via magnetic flux leakage. An apparatus may include a magnet operable to magnetize a portion of a drill string extending out of a wellbore that extends into a subterranean formation below a drill rig and a sensor operable to facilitate magnetic flux measurements indicative of an amount of magnetic flux that leaked from the drill string along the magnetized portion of the drill string. The apparatus may further comprise a processing device having a processor and a memory storing a computer program code, wherein the processing device is operable to receive the magnetic flux measurements and detect a connection joint between adjacent drill pipes of the drill string based on the magnetic flux measurements.

The method includes detecting a first plurality of components of a drilling rig control system to control a drilling operation, obtaining a knowledge graph comprising a plurality of nodes corresponding to the first plurality of components, and a plurality of links connecting the plurality of nodes, wherein each of the plurality of links represents at least a target measure of data communication and resource utilization of each pair of components of the first plurality of components, and performing, by a drilling rig commissioning system and based on the knowledge graph, a management task of the drilling rig control system.

A method includes creating a digital description of the well construction system, wherein the digital description of the well construction system describes the locational relationship of components in the well construction system, collecting multiple types of data from a well construction system, and tagging the collected data with an identification indicating at least one of a location of a source of collected data and a component in the well construction system from which the data is collected. The multiple types of data include sensor data collected from one or more sensors disposed along the well construction system and operational state data indicating an on/off status of one or more components in the well construction system.
